Compliance Manager

As Compliance Manager you will lead a team of compliance professionals across the Primark business. As part of the Primark Global Legal Team you will work closely with senior leaders both within our business and in our parent company ABF plc. You will drive the agenda around a broad spectrum of compliance issues forward within our business. In doing so you will actively contribute to the ongoing success of the business.


What the role involves:
  • Responsible for leading a high performing team that provides compliance advice and support across the entire Primark business
  • Champions functional excellence whilst improving the operational effectiveness of the team
  • Work cross functionally to drive the compliance agenda forward and effectively manage a broad range of compliance risks
  • Responsible for organising and managing the GDPR Steering Committee within Primark, setting the agenda and driving results
  • Engage on compliance topics with senior stakeholders from across the business
  • Interface and manage relationships with the ABF GDPR programme lead and other ABF Compliance team leads
  • Work with ABF to implement a compliance programme that is right for the Primark business
  • Develop a robust and engaging training programme to ensure the business is educated to deliver legally compliant initiatives
  • Build a strong external network of relationships with peers to benchmark the approach to compliance topics and share best practice
  • Manage external counsel and build relationships with trusted external advisors across multiple territories
  • Ensure maximum efficiencies of work performed whilst proactively managing the costs incurred

What we're looking for;
  • Compliance professional with at least 7-10 years’ experience in a compliance and/or legal setting
  • Experience of advising on Compliance topics across multiple jurisdictions
  • A history of working on group led compliance programmes and ensure that they fit within the context of an operating company
  • Proven track record of managing multi-jurisdictional compliance teams
  • Must be able not just to identify a problem or a solution but be willing to actively go about making the change
  • Strong work ethic and very comfortable working in a dynamic environment
  • The successful candidate will be a self-starter, capable of using their initiative and relish working in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be a team player with well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
