As our Environmental Co-Ordinator you will support the development and execution of Primark’s sustainability strategy across direct operations ensuring that the strategy enhances business performance and supports the long-term interests of the company.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the delivery of our Primark Cares Sustainability Strategy within our Direct Operations;
  • Support the development and rollout of new Waste and Environmental strategies, processes and procedures;
  • Co-ordinate all the relevant operational arrangements associated with new and existing Waste Services;
  • Support the preparation and monitoring of Environmental budgets;
  • Prepare and maintain our suite of corporate Environmental Policies and Procedures;
  • Identify opportunities to improve performance across our Environmental operations;
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of Sustainability programmes;
  • Assist with the formulation and development of Environmental awareness campaigns and marketing strategies;
  • Support the continued development and rollout of our Energy Management System (EnMS) in line with the requirements of the International Energy Management Standard, ISO50001;
  • Review and promote Environmental initiatives within the business;
  • Support the Group Environmental Sustainability Manager in ensuring that Primark is meeting its global Environmental compliance requirements and achieving best practice in Environmental management where possible;
  • Liaise with Regulatory Authorities regarding compliance issues or campaign updates;
  • Develop, support and monitor the Environmental elements of internal and external audit programmes;
  • Prepare, collate and report on Primark’s Environmental key performance indicators;
  • Coordinate, monitor and manage the waste auditing programme for all waste providers servicing Primark;
  • Support all new and existing business concepts and all internal Primark stakeholders with the relevant Environmental considerations.

Essential Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
The successful candidate should have the following:
  • Degree in Environmental Science/Engineering or equivalent;
  • Minimum of 3-5 years post qualification experience in the Environmental sector;
  • Good awareness of Environmental legislation and standards;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Ability to work well in teams, work well under pressure and meet deadlines;
  • Excellent planning and organisation skills;
  • Good presentation skills;
  • Competency in all Microsoft systems (Word, Excel, Power Point) essential;
  • Results orientated with a strong focus on the delivery of objectives, including an ability to provide creative and innovative solutions based on a sound understanding of business requirements.
