Role: Ethical Trade Executive – GDPR

Purpose of role:Day-to-day responsibility for analysis, recording and reporting matters ensuring functional compliance with Primark’s Data Protection Programme
Reports to:SETE Licensing and GDPR
Key Responsibilities:
  • Work as part of the Primark network of GDPR champions (c.a. 28), managed by the Legal Compliance Department, in collaboration with the ETES-CS SETE
  • Play a key role in defining the governance and accountability requirements for monitoring and maintaining compliance with our data protection policy and procedures within ET & ES team.
  • Identify training and awareness needs and work with the Primark Compliance Team to co-ordinate regional requirements, in collaboration with the SETE.
  • Develop and issue privacy notices where required for new projects or initiatives with support from Primark Compliance Team.
  • Ensure operational procedures and guidance remain up to date, as per guidance of the Legal team
  • Regularly review notices to make sure that they are accurate, up-to-date and effective
  • Manage subject access requests for the function and regularly review systems/business processes in conjunction with Primark Compliance Team to ensure appropriate for volume of requests received
  • Review data retention guidelines and ensure they are adhered to in practice within the function
  • Participate and support due diligence checks and risk assessments
  • Maintain register of third parties for the function
  • Identify any new data sharing / processing arrangements
  • Contribute to providing a secure environment that supports the requirements of Best Practice and the needs of stakeholders, in collaboration with the SETE
  • To assist in the implementation of Company policies and standards on security matters which embrace all areas of information security risk, under guidance of the legal team
  • Identify, report and escalate risks/ issues with full support from Primark Compliance Team
  • Assist in the ongoing monitoring of compliance and any change in risk levels.
  • Provide support and cover for specific monitoring programmes
  • Support the ongoing maintenance of the Investigations Tracker Spreadsheet
Knowledge & Experience
  • Ability to work with different stakeholders at peer and mid-senior level
  • Proficiency in (data) compliance and management of processes
