Lean Portfolio Partner

Primark Technology is about to embark on a transformation journey to support business strategy which includes modernising our operating model as well as technology architecture. We are looking for a confident and keen PMO professional to partner with one or more portfolio leadership teams, providing insight and challenge across all areas of delivery and prioritisation. Working collaboratively within the Lean Portfolio Office team to generate a consolidated view for the Technology Strategy & Performance Office change agenda across Technology.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implementation of Lean Portfolio Management (LPM) practices, leading the quarterly roadmap review process within a specific Product Domain, focusing on collaboration with all Product Domains and Shared Services – ensuring consistency and aligned ways of working
  • Drive and govern the Technology Roadmap prioritisation in conjunction with Product Domain Directors, Portfolio Performance Managers, and Business stakeholders ensuring alignment across the whole of Technology and Strategy & Transformation.
  • Understand the strategic drivers & transformation themes for the Product Domains being proposed in order to participate fully in prioritisation.
  • Implement and collaborate with Portfolio Performance Managers for each Product Domain to embed a standard methodology from across the LPM proficiencies and manage continuous and consistent alignment and value-based outcome measurement
  • Ownership of the LPM model for the Product Domain including monthly and quarterly performance assessment and reporting against OKRs
  • Responsible for ensuring that meaningful metrics for Product Domain heath, are in place and are easily accessible presenting key successes, key challenges and to drive improvements for action
  • Responsible for driving and implementing consistent ways of working for the Technology Governance Structure by becoming embedded within the Product Domain generating commentary and challenge on health and quality for discussion at Reviews, highlight risks, dependencies, exceptions and actions required
  • Lead an agenda of automating processes and reporting wherever practicable
  • Contribute, as part of the Lean Portfolio Office, towards the design and implementation of agreed changes in framework/processes including leading the implementation and governance within the Product Domain

Knowledge & Experience:
  • 5+ years of experience within a PMO, organisational design and transformation within a large-scale enterprise environment preferred;
  • Experience in both Waterfall and Agile methodologies preferred;
  • Experience in supporting articulation of value outcomes as OKR beneficial;
  • Experience of Portfolio Management or Lean Portfolio Management beneficial;
  • An appropriate degree, equivalent qualification or experience

  • Demonstrable experience in managing complex relationships
  • Expertise in project/programme management and associated tools and techniques
  • Ability to understand, support and articulate complex change processes, data-sets and governance
  • Ability to understand budgets and business cases and support teams through the project lifecycle process
  • Effective collaboration skills; working within a matrix-structured organisation focussed on Lean Portfolio Management
