Product Compliance Business Partner

Role: Product Compliance Business Partner

Purpose of role: Supporting our buying teams with a commercial and proactive approach with a focus on product compliance/safety, that ensures Primark’s products are compliant with the regulatory requirements in our trading countries
Reports to: Head of Compliance
Product and Process
  • Under the leadership of the Head of Compliance you will deliver our product compliance strategy, aligned to the quality strategy that ensures Primark is legally compliant and has safe product in all trading countries and enables our future plans.
  • Implement agreed compliance processes in line with Primark's quality strategy.
  • Working with our buying teams, internal business, and external stakeholders to identify and share product risk by market with a commercial & reputational focus providing recommendations.
  • Manage and drive the Primark Quality standards and requirements, product safety and certification manuals** as well as Compliance Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Support the business requirements for new markets, highlighting compliance and safety issues by product type and ensuring commercial and proactive solutions to mitigate risks
  • Work with our QA teams globally and our global partners to develop a best practice compliance end to end process.
  • Set, implement, up-date and follow up product standards and requirements in order to create processes, methods and guidelines that supports Primark internal teams and suppliers in a user friendly way
  • Establish the rule set and process for product labelling compliance
  • Work with key internal stakeholders such as customer services, legal & retail teams to support them in their issue management & resolution in each of our markets.
  • Using your internal and external network to raise the profile of product compliance across Primark and its importance of securing our compliant trading
  • Using your experience and technical knowledge to support our suppliers and product risk analysis, supporting the business’ awareness of the cost of non-compliance
  • Support quarterly B&M reviews across all product ranges to ascertain product compliance risks
  • Investigate and support business in case of authority inspection, implement corrective actions if needed.
Suppliers and Service Provider
  • Be a representative for Compliance within Primark's supply base
  • Work with key stakeholders in our sourcing teams to drive supplier improvement and to ensure key suppliers deliver more value & service to Primark and are aware of compliance updates and issues
  • Pro-actively make our internal stakeholders aware of any issues arising from compliance interaction with suppliers to ensure a global team approach to issue resolution.
  • Excellent attention to details and an ability to analyse and interrogate high volumes of data as well as demonstrating an ability to focus on higher level overview
  • Proven ability in managing sensitive matters whilst ensuring all Primark information remains confidential to the business.
  • Maintain regular communication with peer group to ensure consistent ways of working
  • Build strong relationships across the quality and sourcing teams to enable more informed decision making
  • Proven ability to influence at all levels of the company.
  • Coach and up-skill the wider teams as required
  • Develop own capability by using resources available and development plans (global partners and 3rd parties)
  • Continue to build external and internal networks to strengthen relationships and enhance decision making
