Primark Technology has embarked on a transformation journey to support business strategy which includes modernising our Vendor operating model as well as technology architecture. The Vendor Manager will play a key role in transforming and managing our partnerships with technology vendors, consultancies, specialist agencies, subcontractor, and managed service providers.
The Vendor Manager will work closely with the Strategic Partner Manager to ensure that key Technology Partner and Vendors deliver in accordance with their contractual obligations and are developed in line with Primark strategic goals and vendor management framework.
The role will be responsible and accountable for a large portfolio of vendors and contracts across Product Domains and will work with key stakeholder groups across Technology to ensure that Primark derives ongoing value and optimum service levels from new Technology contracts & renewals.
The Vendor Manager will drive the expansion of the Technology vendor governance framework to all key vendors within the assigned portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute the Technology sourcing and partner strategy for assigned Technology Product domain/s and be key to the evolution of the Partner management centre of expertise within Technology
  • Support the selection, commercial agreements and performance of partner delivered IT assets/services are optimised to meet Technology finance, resourcing, delivery, and experience commitments, along with transformation outcomes
  • Work closely with the Procurement and Technology team to define the operational in-life requirements and performance management measures for commercial negotiations
  • Co-ordinate the product domain input to procurement led RFI/RFP processes
  • Onboard new partners post contracting and implement Primark vendor management practices, governance, in life management and assurance
  • Lead out on engagement between the Technology product domains & shared services areas, procurement and Technology service providers ensuring an aligned approach for successful Technology contractual outcomes in line with Primark’s Technology Strategy
  • Vendor management framework - play a lead role in the expansion and enhancement of the Technology vendor management framework for key product domain vendors.
  • Working with key stakeholders across Technology, Procurement and Legal, the Vendor Manager will provide guidance and support in the contract renewal/RFP process (value from £100k to £20m) and will support as required the end to end cycle to contract signature, ensuring that all necessary contractual arrangements and service level agreements are successfully constructed.
  • Accountable for the annual contract renewal schedule for product domain vendors.
  • Identify opportunities for costs savings and work with the key Technology stakeholders to get buy-in to savings targets and deliver and report against cost savings.
  • Contract management for partners and key vendors- understanding the contract and then enforcing and adhering to the applicable contract mechanisms as necessary - Manage and control the commercial baseline for the engagement, including accurate and complete processing of changes in line with procurement guidelines.
  • Responsible for monitoring and managing partner/vendor performance against key contractual requirements, activities, KPI / SLA, usage true ups, quality, deliverables, milestones and project plans. This includes Primark’s performance against its contractual obligations.
  • Provide support and guidance to Technology Stakeholders on interpretation of contractual service deliverables and obligations
  • Knowledge & Experience Required:
  • 3rd level qualification or equivalent relevant industry experience
  • 5+ years at a Vendor Manager /Senior Vendor Management Lead level (IT focused) managing large scale contracts and IT Vendors/ Service Providers
  • Expertise in all types of Partner/vendor engagements/contracts be that Managed Services, Service Integrators, Enterprise Software (on premises and in the cloud) other Cloud Services (e.g. platform, infra)
  • Strong communication and senior stakeholder management skills; relationship builder internally and externally; able to turn complex messages into effective and succinct communication.
  • High levels of commercial acumen with ability to balance technical delivery and commercial benefits.
  • Deep understanding and experience of a highly complex partner /vendor landscape across multiple domains, including software, hardware, licence management and managed services.
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced environment, high results driven environment with a focus on high standards and value-for-money.
  • Ability to influence people at all levels - internally & externally
  • Proven large scale IT contract development and management skills
  • Ability to maintain focus and confidence in the face of difficult/complex contract negotiations, tight deadlines and fast pace
  • Excellent people & team management skills, ability to lead, influence and coach others
  • Excellent organisation, prioritisation and time management skills
  • Excellent problem solving, strategic thinking and planning skills
  • Ability to analyse, evaluate and recommend on risk at strategic level
  • Ability to synthesize large amounts of data into key process and performance measures.
