Inventory & Inbound Team Manager

Role: Inbound and Inventory Team Manager

Purpose of role: To lead, motivate and develop a team of Depot colleagues to achieve and maintain stock accuracy and to manage the inbound and compliance process of the depot.

Reports to: Inbound and Inventory Manager

Location: UK Based, Islip Depot, Northamptonshire
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the day-to-day functions of the inbound and inventory office
    • You will have responsibility for maintaining and managing the inbound office function to ensure continuous operation as well as ensuring accuracy of inbound data
    • You will have responsibility for managing and maintaining all inventory processes, ways of working and accuracy of stock
  • Manage the inbound and inventory team, including managing attendance, maintaining information on time and attendance system for payroll purposes, carrying out PDR’s and objective reviews promptly and effectively.
  • To ensure the Inbound and Inventory departments contribute to the depot KPI’s by working closely with the Operation, providing feedback and analysis on operational errors and ensuring correct processes are being followed
  • To ensure that 100% of captured Non-Compliance from Inbound is reported and escalated
  • Ensure the capture of data for analysis and reporting e.g. Cycle Count progress, Stock Holding, Outstanding Putaway. SKU Report, Cube report, adjustment report and cycle count data, Picked Not Loaded, Period review data collection
  • To ensure PI Counts are completed within set time frames and carry out periodic audits
  • To manage GRN Query reconciliation with Accounts Head Office
  • Monitor warehouse utilisation to assist the operation with department friendly picking and ensure sufficient pick faces are available for each department
  • Maintain communication with the Freight Management Team, Primark Control Tower, Supply Chain, Customer Services and the operational team
  • To maintain the auditability and traceability of Primark product movements
  • To manage stock availability and compliance in line with instruction received from supply chain and buying office
  • To ensure the efficient and effective achievement of inbound and inventory targets and key performance indicators.
  • To identify opportunities to improve internal service levels and work with the operational team to implement these
  • Support the planning and management of the stock in external pallet storage providing timely and accurate reporting where required
  • Ensure correct customs documentation is created and provided for all export loads.

Essential knowledge, skills and experience:
  • Minimum 3+ years in Logistics Industry
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to delegate effectively
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to develop strong working relationships at all management levels
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks effectively
  • Able to work in and lead a team
  • Quick-thinking
  • Knowledge and understanding of all sections of the Depot (inbound / outbound etc)
  • Good decision maker
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to initiate relevant projects and analysis
  • People management
  • Experience of utilising and interrogating Warehouse Management system
  • Excellent data analysis and Microsoft Excel skills
