Supply Chain Planning Analyst

Role: Supply Chain Planning Analyst

Purpose of role:
This person will be working within our central supply chain team focused on supporting supply chain with planning, data & analytics.

The role will involve extensive evaluation of data using Excel, Tableau, Alteryx, Teradata SQL and specialist applications (training provided) to aid in the production of insights that will inform tactical and strategic decision making

Key Responsibilities:
  • To assist the other Supply Chain Planning team in producing analytical insights that help drive the short and medium-term operational and capacity plans.
  • For the plans produced, to meet service objectives whilst working to reduce overall logistics cost per case
  • Working with merchandising planning & space team as well as the relevant depot, retail and finance functions, take forecasts plans and updates for conversion into supply chain appropriate data (e.g. SKU’s, carton/sets, stock levels etc.)
  • Co-ordinate and plan key events with the operational teams across the end to end supply chain
  • To measure and work on understanding the causes of forecast variance and to report on it, working with key stakeholders to improve accuracy
  • To build, update and troubleshoot datasets to drive insights
  • To research, discover and retrieve data from a myriad of proprietary systems.
  • To undertake a variety of administrative tasks as required
  • To support the maintenance and ongoing development of a digital model of the Primark Supply Chain Network
  • To define and undertake ad-hoc analytical tasks on request
  • To learn and develop the technical and analytical skills required for successfully supporting the supply chain team
Knowledge, skills experience:
  • An aptitude and passion for insights through analysis including the curation of data and provision of value-add commentary
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Able to work in a team and on own initiative
  • Excellent all-round problem solving and influencing skills
  • Meticulous approach to detail and accuracy
  • Time and workload management
  • An ability to work under pressure
  • Cultural awareness, sensitivity and confidentiality
  • Have some knowledge of FMCG Supply Chain
  • Working in a Systems / Warehouse Admin / Analytical space is desirable
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programmes including Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Previous experience in Using Extract, Transform, Load tools desirable
  • Previous experience in Data Visualisation desirable
  • SQL knowledge an advantage
