Project Manager – WMS
Purpose of role: To support WMS Programme Manager (SC) in development and roll out of standard warehouse template across the Primark depot estate. Identify project deliverables and delivery approach, ensuring repeatable process enables multiple site implementations in single Financial year.

Key Responsibilities:
- To provide hands on leadership to the end to end delivery of large scale projects in the supply chain from conception through to delivery often over a short or long timescale. These projects will include, but not be limited to, new operational design, build & introductions, WMS/WCS implementations, operational improvement activities & systems implementations.
- Support definition and deliver of the ‘Supply Chain Depot Road Map’ ensuring that key milestones and dependencies are clearly identified and managed across the business.
- Provide Leadership to cross functional team (ICT/Supply Chain development/Supply Chain operations) to deliver multi-site implementation across Primark’s depot estate in both Europe and the US.
- Develop Supply chain implementation team ensuring appropriate technical/process skills are developed with succession plan in place to minimise single points of failure.
- Develop technical & process understanding of the Primark Supply Chain network to ensure that delivery of change requests/SC developments are fit for purpose and integrated into the overall Depot systems roll out.
- Ensure Standard template is sufficiently agile to meet the needs of future business and legislative changes as required.
- Develop and manage the implementation budget to ensure funding is available to meet the challenging roll out timescales.
- Work with ICT to ensure current and future Depot support processes are robust and leverage the skills across the Primark depot network.
- Identify and agree project deliverables with Supply Chain Programme Manager & BSM including view on phasing of deliverables.
- Take ownership for the definition and delivery of joint multi-site project plans covering delivery timeline, costs, resourcing, comms, assets and people impacts.
- Manage various test phases including UAT - assist in the creation of scenarios and ensure testing plan, resource requirements and IT considerations are all met.
- Assist in planning Golden Run Test Phase and Go Live Criteria for the project.
- Ensure all training documentations, work instructions are trained out to all parties involved in any changes to process or new processes being introduced.
- Manage and mitigate risk across projects, ensuring the benefits are constantly being reviewed and still viable deliverables.
- Maintain a Project Governance methodology engaging on a regular basis with the Sponsor and key stakeholders of the project.
- At point of project completion, ensure the project is in a stable state to hand across as BAU, has been accepted into service (IT) and that an agreed level of Hypercare has been monitored and signed off.
- Flexibility on location as project will require working away from home for extended periods and significant international travel
- Management and development of the Supply Chain Analyst team to support career progression across the team
- Development of project governance reporting and plans, RAID logs, project updates, etc.

- Work with key SC stake holders both in the UK and overseas to support project deliverables
- Able to work within a matrix structure to ensure external business functions support the roll out of the Warehouse Systems template across the estate
- Familiar with engaging with 3rd Party Partners to support the change project.
- Identify key users from other functions that may be impacted by the change project
- Build strong relationships with other functions within the broader Primark business (Trading/Finance/ICT/3PLs) to ensure they are consulted and informed of projects as appropriate.
Knowledge, skills & experience:
- A minimum of 10 years supply chain management experience
- Experience in delivery of complex Supply Chain change projects, specifically Warehouse Management System & Automated WMS/WCS upgrades and implementations
- Experience in using core project management techniques and tools, demonstrating ability to deliver overlapping projects over multiple year capital
- Experience in leading remote teams who are geographically spread, ensuring resource risks are identified and managed to mitigate project risk.
- Knowledge of modern Warehouse Management (WMS) & Automated (WCS) solutions and how they integrate into host order management (JDA & Oracle)
- Strong working knowledge of JDA Discrete WMS, Blue Yonder WMS & SSI Schaefer WCS & WAMAS applications.
- Strong Process knowledge and understanding across logistics/supply chain ideally in Non Food/Fashion Supply Chain.
- Rigorous and analytical approach to problem solving with the ability to operate under pressure in a fast moving environment.
- Ability to build effective working relationships across and functions and with 3rd party partners.
- Ability to quickly assimilate information, spot issues, and build credible plans to address.
- Ability to deliver robust and sustainable change management through structured delivery plans.
- Experienced communicator, with ability to frame ideas and concepts in easily understandable terms to a variety of technical/non-technical audiences.
- Experience of working in a fast-paced supply chain environment
- Able to work away for long periods with potentially substantial international travel
- Strong administrative & IT skills
- Effective communicator - 2nd language skills a benefit
- Understanding of the financial breakdown – OPEX / CAPEX
- Microsoft Project Skills
- Prince 2 / Sixth Sigma or equivalent accreditation preferable.
