Purpose of the Role:
We’re looking for a passionate and talented Lead Copywriter; this is a brilliant opportunity for someone with a flair for writing and a love for fashion. If you’re up for the challenge and want to work in a rewarding environment, this could be the job for you.

This is a new and exciting role; you will be expected to be positive, organised and a real team-player, with a high level of energy and a passion for the Primark brand. You will be balancing your time between writing and editing product copy, supporting with editorial content and monitoring content on

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Work with the Digital Content Manager to set direction for product copy on, including writing style guides and training junior team members
  • Write short product descriptions based on style guides, product information and product images
  • Oversee, edit and approve copy written by more junior team members
  • Manage translation of product copy, working with existing translation agency
  • Proof-read editorial content for the website, ensuring the brand tone of voice reflects the customer and our brand
  • Develop the look and feel of all editorial content, targeting the correct audience for the brand and drawing in new customers
  • Proactively pitch new feature ideas to create fast-paced, trend-led content
  • Ensure content is optimised for SEO, informing the team of best-practice developments
  • Work with in-house Buying teams to build internal communications and understanding of the latest collections
  • Work with colleagues across the wider Marketing and Creative teams to ensure ‘one voice’ across all product content, editorial pieces and seasonal campaigns
  • Support with on-going site quality control, ensuring all copy, images and content are accurate and of a high quality
  • Support the wider digital team in relation to the overall site content management and supporting processes
  • Work as part of a cross-functional team to deliver on site elements of larger scale integrated campaigns

Skills & Experience:
  • Ability to set direction for more junior colleagues
  • Strong writing skills – ability to tailor text to customer needs and brand tone of voice
  • Meticulous eye for detail
  • Optimistic and solution-orientated with a can-do attitude
  • Natural interest in the fashion industry and a passion for the Primark brand
  • An infectious obsession with the latest trends and developments
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to seamlessly switch between tasks and objectives
  • Self-motivated and focused
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships with variety of departments
  • Great organisational and time-management skills, with ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Tech savvy – able to quickly grasp and adopt new systems and ways of working

  • 3-4 years’ experience in a related role; proven experience of writing and developing digital content, ideally within the fashion industry
  • Degree in English, Fashion Journalism or similar
  • Experience successfully managing a team or supervising junior colleagues
  • A proven ability to work quickly and efficiently with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of SEO and how to optimise content for this
  • Experience working with CMS software / programmes
  • Strong knowledge of social media channels
  • Experience with Photoshop
