Planning & Space (Trading) Administrator

Purpose of the Role:

A key support role within the Commercial Trading team providing support with pricing, promotions, reprocessing and stock management, while utilising key IT systems.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Pricing and Promotions
  • Carry out agreed promotion, price change and clearance management actions on the relevant systems, in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Support the Trading Assistant to maintain accurate records and communicate changes effectively.
  • Liaise with B&M teams to clear up any missing or inconsistent information.
  • Complete agreed reprocessing work order actions on the relevant systems, in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Liaise with Supply Chain and B&M/Quality teams to clear up any missing or inconsistent information and ensure reprocessing is completed.
  • Support the Trading Assistant to maintain accurate records.
Stock Management
  • Complete agreed PSR block/unblock actions on the relevant systems, in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Support the Trading Assistant to maintain accurate records.
Commercial Trading support
  • Complete data entry and administration tasks as needed, to support the wider Trading team.
People & Collaboration
  • Deliver and own accurate business information and direction to peers and teams and influence as required
  • Work with teams across the business to gather required numerical data.
  • Work closely with Commercial Analyst, Trading Assistant and other Trading Administrator to manage workload and priorities, to ensure all tasks are completed as needed.
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of key terminology and processes within Primark and merchandising.
  • Take responsibility for own career progression.
Key Interactions as part of this role:

Reporting to the Trading Lead, the Trading Administrator will work collaboratively across the Commercial Trading team, with the Commercial Analysts and other Trading Administrator.

Skills & Experience:
Essential: -
  • Someone with an understanding of the clothing retail sector and Merchandising. Qualifications in Fashion, Merchandising, Retail Management, Business, Maths, or a similar discipline are a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills displaying confidence and influencing skills when working as part of a team.
  • An eye for detail, you’ll need to have your eye on many things at once, meaning your time management skills will be key.
  • Strong organisation and prioritisation skills with the ability to work at pace under pressure while focusing on results.
  • A way with numbers. This part of the role is analytical so if you’re handy with calculations, you’ll excel.
  • Experience of MS Office, especially Excel and a working knowledge of functions such as SUMIF, V/XLOOKUP.
  • Strong IT literacy with the ability to quickly learn new processes and systems.

  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, possessing the ability to effectively prioritise tasks and deliverables whilst working to agreed deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail and an ability to analyse high volumes of data as well as demonstrating an ability to focus on higher level overview.
  • Genuine interest in the fashion industry and passion for the Primark Brand
  • Be a collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal/communication skills, while demonstrating high levels of emotional intelligence and possess the ability to push back with professionalism.
  • Operates with a high level of integrity, diplomacy, tact and professionalism.
  • Sound judgement, unquestionable ethics and integrity with high degree of transparency and trust.
