What You’ll Do as Card Support Specialist

In your role, you’ll collaborate with different people across a range of skillsets. Here’s a flavour of your day-to-day:

  • Act as a key point of expertise for card payment queries by owning and managing suspected duplicate payment cases, conducting detailed investigations, and ensuring accurate and timely customer refunds.
  • Work closely with Customer Service, stores, Finance, and external banking partners to gather information, clarify transaction details, and progress customer cases efficiently and accurately.
  • Carry out detailed investigations of card transactions using internal systems and data tools, following agreed controls, timelines, and payment‑journey standards to protect customer trust and support payment accuracy.
  • Collaborate with Finance teams and banking partners on reconciliation file preparation, including maintaining processes that generate and support these reconciliation files.
  • Prepare, update, and maintain reconciliation and reporting files to ensure data accuracy and support financial settlement processes with internal stakeholders and banking partners.
  • Maintain clear communication with the business on case progress and outcomes, while contributing to continuous improvement in duplicate‑payment resolution, refund processes, and overall customer experience across the payments journey.

What You’ll Bring  

Here at Primark, we want everyone to feel valued – so please bring your authentic self to work, of course with some other key experience and abilities for this role in particular: 

  • Experience working in technology/IT, payments, retail HQ, or support roles, with desirable exposure to card payments, retail systems, banking, or financial processes.
  • Knowledge of the full card payment lifecycle and the processes involved at each stage.
  • Comfortable working with data and investigations, including running and interpreting SQL queries to support reconciliation analysis.
  • Proficient in Citrix and Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, able to manage expectations and work effectively with retail stores, head office teams, and external partners.
  • Able to prepare clear documentation, reports, and reconciliation files, with strong organisation, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple cases while maintaining high accuracy and customer focus.
