As a Trainee Designer, you will support the Designer and Buying teams in researching and designing a commercial range, including trend, colour, shape direction

You will be responsible for staying ahead of trends, continually research new ideas.

What You’ll Do as a Trainee Designer

In your role, you’ll collaborate with different people across a range of skillsets. Here’s a flavour of your day-to-day:

• Conduct daily multi‑platform trend research and translate insights into clear, commercial direction for Primark womenswear.
• Adapt emerging trends into the Primark brand handwriting, considering new techniques, fabrics, and seasonal colour updates.
• Support the Design team in creating strong typographic graphics and original print designs aligned with brand guidelines.
• Collaborate with designers and buyers by confidently presenting trend ideas, product inspiration, and design concepts.
• Manage design and trend updates, ensuring accurate communication, timely file preparation, and smooth approval processes.
• Provide essential admin support across colour, trend, and product documentation to keep the design workflow running efficiently.

What You’ll Bring

• High attention to detail, a positive “can‑do” attitude, and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, commercial environment.
• Solid working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and proficiency in design‑related admin tasks.
• Flexibility to multitask, adapt to changing priorities, and travel within the UK when required.
