What You’ll Do as a Strategic Technology Partner Manager
In your role, you’ll collaborate with different people across a range of skillsets. Here’s a flavour of your day-to-day:
- Supplier Strategy & Development
Create long‑term supplier strategies, segment the supplier base, and identify collaboration opportunities by leveraging market insights and monitoring trends. - As a Strategic Technology Partner Manager your key responsibility is to manage in-life contracts and will closely work with the procurement & legal teams.
- Value Creation with Strategic Partners
Drive global value creation through strong partnerships, enhancing colleague and customer experiences with innovative, synergistic solutions. - Supplier Relationship Management
Build trusted vendor relationships, lead governance forums such as QBRs, manage escalations, and ensure strong communication across stakeholders. - Commercial & Performance Management
Implement performance frameworks, manage commercial and financial risks, ensure compliance, monitor KPIs/SLAs, and drive continuous improvement. - Leadership
Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. Share an engaging vision with the team, inspiring commitment, and enthusiasm.
- Sustainability, CSR and ESG
Championing CSR, sustainability, diversity, and ESG-aligned reporting across the supplier ecosystem. - Cross‑Functional & Strategic Collaboration
Partner with IT, procurement, legal, and finance teams to align supplier strategies, support contracts and pricing, and stay informed on emerging technology trends.

What You’ll Bring
Here at Primark, we want everyone to feel valued – so please bring your authentic self to work, of course with some other key experience and abilities for this role in particular:
- Experience & Leadership
5–8 years in complex IT environments with 2–5 years leading technology supplier management, plus experience with large‑scale outsourced partnerships (ideally retail). - Commercial & Strategic Capability
Strong background in negotiations, contract tendering, supplier management, and acting as a trusted advisor influencing business strategy. - Customer, UX & Analytical Strength
Advanced analytical skills, strong UX understanding, and the ability to turn data into insights while keeping customer and user needs central. - Project & Delivery Excellence
Solid grasp of project management (Agile and traditional), with strong planning, prioritisation, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities. - Communication, Collaboration & Leadership Skills
Exceptional verbal/written communication, stakeholder management, high emotional intelligence, and the ability to present clearly, influence, coach, and build cross‑functional relationships. - Personal Attributes & Professionalism
Fast‑paced operator with strong integrity, attention to detail, confidentiality, customer focus, entrepreneurial thinking, and alignment with Primark’s mission and brand.
