What You’ll Do as a Global Learning & Development Lead

In your role, you’ll collaborate with different people across a range of skillsets. Here’s a flavour of your day-to-day:  

  • Global L&D Strategy & Leadership: Develop and lead a global learning and development strategy aligned with Primark’s business and P&C objectives, including ABF requirements and strategic priorities.

  • Team Leadership & Capability Building: Lead and support a global team of L&D professionals, facilitators, and trainers—ensuring they are equipped to deliver high-impact learning experiences across all levels and functions.

  • Programme Delivery & Coordination: Oversee the planning and delivery of global learning programmes, including onboarding, product knowledge, functional training, and leadership development, ensuring consistency and quality.

  • Stakeholder Partnership: Collaborate with senior stakeholders and business partners globally to balance strategic initiatives with local needs, ensuring learning solutions are relevant and impactful.

  • Evaluation & Continuous Improvement: Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of learning programmes, using insights to drive continuous improvement and enhance learner experience and business outcomes.

  • Facilitation & Thought Leadership: Facilitate senior-level learning events and stay ahead of industry trends to ensure Primark’s L&D approach remains innovative, future-focused, and best-in-class.

What You’ll Bring

  • Extensive L&D Experience: Over 10 years’ experience in corporate learning, facilitation, and training delivery, with deep expertise across the full learning lifecycle.

  • Leadership & Team Development: Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing learning teams, fostering engagement, capability, and collaboration.

  • Retail & Global Expertise: Experience in the retail sector and working across global teams, with strong awareness of cultural sensitivities and local learning needs.

  • Training Delivery & Innovation: Skilled in delivering learning through various formats—virtual, in-person, and hybrid—with a passion for innovation and future trends.

  • Communication & Influence: Exceptional communication, presentation, and facilitation skills, with the ability to influence and partner effectively across all levels of leadership.

  • Strategic Agility & Resilience: Able to manage complex, fast-paced initiatives, navigate ambiguity, and deliver strategic outcomes in a dynamic environment.
