Purpose of role: Work within the global compliance team to drive product compliance throughout the business, proactively leading Primark contact with Authority bodies in the region of responsibility. As part of the wider product compliance team, ensure that Primark safety and legal requirements are up to date, understood and implemented effectively.

Product and Process
- Proactively lead in country product compliance / safety related requirements in line with direction from central head office.
- Working as part of the Global Primark Product Compliance team, input and build requirements, manuals and processes needed for the Primark supply base and head office.
- Support, input, create and ensure compliance policy and procedure documents are in a format that can be easily understood by head office and suppliers for successful implementation.
- Manage and provide local support to in country legal teams to ensure the right technical understanding of product compliance issues is communicated within the market.
- Responsible to interface with Quality/Compliance teams in head office in managing compliance topics, product safety risks and due diligence testing across Primark.
- Lead the local authority communication, relationship and technical representation of Primark product teams in the markets of responsibility and that the communication flow during their market investigations demonstrates Primark in a positive light, whilst ensuring any deadlines set are met.
- Manage and be accountable for the US market testing requirements.
- Support local store managers who have regular authority visits in terms of training needs to support the knowledge in stores when the visits happen.
- Keep up to date with local market requirements to ensure Primark is fully aware of new requirements or local nuances to be embedded into the product compliance process.
- Responsible for dealing with regulators/preparing for entrance to new countries/states ensuring product is compliant now and into the future.
- Ensuring Primark is ready to implement any changes required to be compliant to regulation Eg New E-filing process for testing product.
Suppliers and Service Providers
- Be a representative for the Product Compliance team within Primark's supply base and with our 3rd party service providers.
- Work with key stakeholders in our global quality, sustainability and sourcing teams to drive supplier improvement.
- Pro-actively make our internal stakeholders aware of any issues arising from compliance interaction with authorities or from due diligence testing to ensure a global team approach to issue resolution.
- Interpret and transform complex regulatory information and standards into user friendly processes and training material.
- Proven ability in managing sensitive matters whilst ensuring all Primark information remains confidential to the business.
People:
- Maintain regular communication with peer group to ensure consistent ways of working taking the central function direction into local market application.
- Ensure remote working with the Head of Compliance is proactive and engaged.
- Build strong relationships across the quality, sustainability, legal and sourcing teams to enable more informed decision making .
- Be able to communicate in a clear and concise manner across suppliers and head office.
- Train and up-skill the wider teams as required.
- Continue to build external and internal networks to strengthen relationships and enhance decision making .
