What You’ll Do as a Group Director of Sourcing, Quality & Sustainability
In this critical role, you will shape and execute the strategic direction of these three functions, aligning them end‑to‑end to strengthen the connection between design, development and production. You will lead the long‑term transformation of our sourcing model, deepen strategic supplier partnerships, elevate product quality and embed ESG at the heart of how we design, source and deliver product. Overseeing global sourcing strategy, supplier management, quality assurance and sustainability governance, you will ensure robust risk management, regulatory readiness and commercial resilience. The ideal candidate brings a global strategic mindset, extensive leadership experience and a proven track record delivering large‑scale sourcing transformation, ESG impact and product quality excellence in complex, global fashion retail environments
- Optimise and execute a future‑fit global sourcing model, balancing cost, speed, agility and ethical integrity while diversifying suppliers and strengthening risk mitigation to ensure a resilient and scalable supply base.
- Drive long‑term sourcing transformation, enhancing partners, processes and technology while proactively responding to global economic, regulatory and geopolitical shifts to safeguard supply‑chain resilience.
- Build high‑impact, strategic supplier partnerships that go beyond price to drive innovation, traceability, compliance and commercial differentiation across the global supply base.
- Set clear performance expectations and governance frameworks, aligning joint business plans with commercial, operational and ESG priorities.
- Provide executive oversight of global product quality, ensuring alignment to brand standards, customer expectations and regulations, and champion a culture of continuous improvement and “right‑first‑time” delivery.
- Strengthen product compliance and regulatory readiness, evolving governance structures and anticipating emerging requirements to minimise business risk.
- Embed ESG deeply into sourcing and product development, accelerating Primark’s sustainability strategy and integrating environmental and social priorities into everyday business practice.
- Inspire and develop high‑performing global teams, fostering inclusive leadership, strong cross‑functional collaboration, trusted partnerships and a culture of accountability, engagement and operational excellence.
What You’ll Bring:

Skills & Experience:
- 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in global fashion retail, apparel manufacturing, or consumer goods with a strong focus on sourcing strategy, product quality, and ESG.
- Proven track record in leading and implementing global sourcing strategies in a fashion retail business in the value space delivering improvements in cost, speed, flexibility, and supplier performance.
- Demonstrated success in building and maintaining strategic supplier partnerships that drive innovation, resilience, and compliance across complex global supply chains.
- Demonstrated success in accelerating or transforming ESG strategies at scale within a global retail business, including compliance with evolving global regulations.
- Proven ability to anticipate and respond to evolving regulatory landscapes, ensuring proactive compliance and minimizing business risk.
- Experienced in leading and developing high performing senior directors with complex global teams.
- Strong storytelling and communication skills paired with a credible, engaging presence for internal and external stakeholders.
