The Environmental Specialist is responsible for supporting the development and execution of Primark’s sustainability strategy across direct operations, ensuring that the strategy enhances business performance and supports the long-term interests of the company.

What You’ll Do:

In your role, you’ll collaborate with different people across a range of skillsets. Here’s a flavour of your day-to-day:

  1. Support the development and rollout of new Waste and Environmental strategies, processes and procedures;
  2. Co-ordinate all the relevant operational arrangements associated with new and existing Waste Services to ensure efficiency and cost-effective retail operations
  3. Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, to improve performance related to Waste management
  4. Oversee all the relevant reporting and data requirements associated with waste for a wide range of reports and audiences
  5. Support the preparation and monitoring of Environmental budgets; both OPEX and CapEX
  6. Support the Group Environmental Sustainability Manager in ensuring that Primark is meeting its global Environmental compliance requirements and achieving best practice in Environmental management where possible;

  1. Degree in Environmental Science/Engineering or equivalent;
  2. Minimum of 3-5 years post qualification experience in the Environmental sector;
  3. Good awareness of Environmental legislation and standards;
  4. Good interpersonal and communication skills;
  5. Competency in all Microsoft systems (Word, Excel, Power Point) essential;
