This role drives the strategy and operations for managing, evaluating, and improving global supplier performance. Reporting to the Head of Sourcing, the Lead for Global Vendor Management & Supplier Performance will shape and deliver the future of vendor management for a high‑volume global fashion supply chain. The role oversees the rollout and adoption of key systems—including the Supplier Scorecard, Supplier Onboarding platform, and Supplier Portal—while leading a data analytics team to provide accurate, actionable performance insights for buyers, category managers, and sourcing teams. It requires strong stakeholder leadership, the ability to simplify complex processes, and the confidence to drive new ways of working across multiple teams and suppliers. The role also manages supplier‑facing communications, including performance actions, exits, and the development of strategic partnerships with top‑tier (“gold”) suppliers.  

What You’ll Do as a Sourcing Lead   

In your role, you’ll collaborate with different people across a range of skillsets. Here’s a flavour of your day-to-day:   

• Lead the long‑term vision for vendor and supplier performance management, including governance frameworks, digital tools, and scalable global processes.
• Oversee the rollout, integration, and adoption of key systems (Supplier Scorecard, Supplier Onboarding, Supplier Portal), ensuring they deliver measurable business impact.
• Act as the central owner of supplier performance data—driving consistency, transparency, insightful analytics, and strong decision-making support for category strategies.
• Manage the full supplier lifecycle (onboarding, performance, corrective actions, consequences, exits) while ensuring accurate documentation, compliance, and aligned communication.
• Build strong cross-functional collaboration with leaders across Buying, Merchandising, Sustainability, Supply Chain, and more to drive KPIs, scoring methodologies, and continuous improvement.
• Provide strategic leadership to global teams—coaching, mentoring, and fostering a high‑trust culture—while ensuring best-practice adoption, innovation, and delivery of Primark’s supplier excellence agenda.

• Minimum 10 years’ experience in sourcing, supply chain, vendor management, or production within a global fashion, apparel, or consumer goods environment, with a strong track record of optimising supplier portfolios and driving performance.
• Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop high‑performing teams in a matrixed international organisation, collaborating closely with regional and in‑market stakeholders.
• Exceptional communication and relationship‑building skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders, present complex information clearly, and build trusted cross‑functional partnerships.
• Strong strategic problem‑solving capability, able to manage multiple interconnected workstreams while providing expert guidance on sourcing, risk, data insights, and large‑scale systems implementation.
• Highly analytical with outstanding attention to detail, able to interpret and interrogate large data sets while maintaining a clear strategic overview and delivering high‑quality outputs.
• Demonstrates integrity, confidentiality, sound judgement, and resilience—thriving in fast‑paced environments, driving continuous improvement, and leading teams through change with professionalism and credibility.
