What You’ll Do as a Global Process Owner -  Forecast to Planning

The Global Process Owner, Forecast to Planning, will play a key role in Primark's finance transformation team by leading the design and implementation of a robust and integrated forecasting and planning process. This role will be responsible for establishing global standards, driving process improvements, and ensuring alignment between financial forecasts and business strategy

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of Primark's global forecasting and planning process, encompassing financial forecasting, merchandise planning, and operational planning
  • Define global standards, methodologies, and best practices for forecasting and planning, ensuring consistency and accuracy across all Primark entities
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders across Finance, Merchandising, Operations, and IT to gather inputs, align assumptions, and ensure the integrity of forecasts
  • Develop and implement robust forecasting models and tools, leveraging technology and data analytics to improve forecast accuracy and efficiency
  • Oversee the development of short-term and long-term financial forecasts, including rolling forecasts, annual budgets, and strategic plans
  • Provide insightful analysis of financial forecasts, identifying risks and opportunities, and recommending actions to mitigate risks and capitalise on opportunities.
  • Track and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) related to forecasting accuracy, identifying areas for improvement and driving initiatives to enhance forecast performance
  • Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making by promoting the use of forecasting and planning tools and insights across the organisation
  • Stay informed about industry best practices, emerging technologies, and forecasting techniques to continuously improve Primark's forecasting and planning capabilities

 


What You’ll Bring  

Here at Primark, we want everyone to feel valued – so please bring your authentic self to work, of course with some other key experience and abilities for this role in particular: 

  • A professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) is essential
  • Experience in the retail industry is a plus with a minimum of 10 years working in an industry environment, 5 years at a senior management level
  • Proven experience in a senior finance role with a strong focus on forecasting, planning, and financial analysis, ideally within the retail industry
  • Experience in leading and managing teams, fostering a collaborative and high[1]performing work environment
  • Deep understanding of forecasting methodologies, financial modelling techniques, and key performance drivers in a retail environment
  • Experience in designing and implementing forecasting and planning processes, including the use of technology and data analytics
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and draw meaningful insights
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior leadership
  • Experience with retail ERP systems, point-of-sale (POS) systems, and other relevant financial and operational systems
  • A proactive and results-oriented mindset, with a strong drive for continuous improvement and a passion for delivering excellence
