What You’ll Do as a Strategic Finance Business Partner
In your role, you’ll collaborate with different people across a range of skillsets. Here’s a flavour of your day-to-day:
- Identify opportunities to grow sales, reduce costs, and improve efficiency, using deep‑dive analysis to highlight trends, risks, and value‑creation opportunities.
- Influence and challenge senior stakeholders on investment cases, ensuring alignment and strong commercial outcomes across functions.
- Present clear, actionable insights and business intelligence to senior leadership, supporting data‑driven decision‑making.
- Partner cross‑functionally to shape strategy, deliver plans, and monitor the impact of strategic projects to ensure commercial results.
- Use strong financial modelling, strategic thinking, and commercial acumen to analyse options, build compelling stories, and guide decisions.
- Build strong relationships across the organisation, driving innovation, encouraging creative thinking, and ensuring initiatives focus on customer and business value.
What You’ll Bring
Here at Primark, we want everyone to feel valued – so please bring your authentic self to work, of course with some other key experience and abilities for this role in particular:
- Ideally a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA) and/or MBA with 5+ years’ post‑qualification experience in a strategic, commercial, or finance role within consulting or industry.
- Experienced in managing, coaching, and delegating to junior team members.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen with the ability to produce and clearly communicate analysis, insights, and strategic recommendations.
- Background in a fast‑paced finance environment, ideally within retail or FMCG.
- Action‑oriented mindset with the ability to identify opportunities, drive cross‑functional change, and deliver measurable improvements.
- Comfortable working in an unstructured, consultative setting with a strong work ethic and focus on value creation.
