The Technology Assurance Lead will report to the Head of Technology Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC), oversee a team of internal analysts and collaborate with external assurance partners. This role is integral to managing the planning and testing of IT General Controls (ITGCs). The role offers growth opportunities, including potential progression into broader technology risk management leadership positions.

What You’ll Do as a Technology Assurance Lead
We want you to feel challenged and inspired. Here, you’ll develop your skills across a range of responsibilities:
  • Coordinate controls testing activities with internal analysts and third-party partners to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards
  • Support IT audits, including FRC compliance, external audits, and internal reviews, ensuring seamless coordination and clear communication with auditors.
  • Work with stakeholders to track and remediate audit findings, providing clear action plans and monitoring progress.
  • Support control owners in testing processes and assist in assurance activities as required.
  • Drive internal controls awareness by actively supporting training and communication initiatives led by the Head of Tech GRC.
  • Support the GRC Managers in developing processes and procedures that support the committed deliverables of the team.
  • Provide support in the maintenance and enhancement of the IT general controls framework.
  • Support in the configuration, maintenance and administration of the GRC tool.
  • Work with broader team to produce reporting packs for various forums as required.
  • Develop and support the GRC analysts, creating opportunities for growth

What You’ll Bring

  • A strong understanding of IT General Controls (ITGC), SOX compliance, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience in liaising with external and internal auditors, managing audit cycles, and tracking remediation efforts.
  • Experience with COBIT, ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR requirements advantageous.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and systemic issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate risk-related information to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Good organisation, prioritisation and rationalisation skills.
  • Strong people management skills, with a desire to support development.
  • Strong team values, recognises the value of a positive team environment and contributes to the creation of this.
  • Previous experience as an IT auditor in a statutory financial audit is beneficial but not essential.
  • Previous experience in the retail industry is beneficial but not essential.
