What You’ll Do as Business Analyst

In your role, you’ll collaborate with different people across a range of skillsets. Here’s a flavour of your day-to-day:

• Advise Product Owners and Project/Programme Managers on Primark’s business analysis methodology, ensuring effective identification, prioritisation, and validation of business and user requirements.
• Capture user needs, pain points, and process gaps through stakeholder interviews, workshops, and documentation reviews, analysing both as-is and to-be processes.
• Collaborate with architects, developers, and product teams to translate business and technical needs into clear, actionable requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Maintain strong knowledge of systems and processes, manage requirement prioritisation (e.g., MoSCoW), and ensure full traceability throughout the delivery lifecycle.
• Support QA and UAT by clarifying expected system behaviour, triaging defects, and ensuring solutions meet business objectives.
• Contribute to discovery, business case development, training, and adoption work while continuously improving and championing Primark’s business analysis methodology.

What You’ll Bring  

Here at Primark, we want everyone to feel valued – so please bring your authentic self to work, of course with some other key experience and abilities for this role in particular: 

• 3+ years’ experience in Business Analysis or business relationship management, ideally within a retail environment.
• Strong knowledge of software delivery lifecycle, software design principles, and system capabilities, with proven experience delivering solutions in Agile (Scrum/Kanban) settings.
• Hands-on expertise with Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence, and managing product backlogs or project workflows.
• Demonstrated retail industry experience, especially with EPOS or in‑store technologies.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, able to translate between technical and non‑technical audiences, paired with strong analytical, logical, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Relevant degree/qualification, with desirable additions such as knowledge of retail tech trends, Power BI/Tableau, or certifications (IIBA, BCS, Scrum Alliance, etc.).
