Primark is looking for an Applied Insights & Analytics Lead to build and lead a new team dedicated to delivering actionable insights across all business areas. This role is both strategic and hands on—ideal for someone who has operated in advanced analytics environments using tools such as Alteryx, SQL, Tableau, and Power BI.

What You’ll Do as an Applied Insights & Analytics Lead

We want you to feel challenged and inspired. Here, you’ll develop your skills across a range of responsibilities:

  • Build and lead a high‑performing applied insights team delivering advanced reporting, analytics, and workflow optimisation.
  • Oversee the redesign and optimisation of analytics workflows, including transitions from Alteryx to Tableau/Power BI reporting frameworks.
  • Architect high‑quality datasets, dashboards, and visualisation standards aligned to business needs.
  • Ensure strong data quality, governance, and efficient information flow across analytical systems.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, bringing deep subject‑matter expertise, staying current with best practices, and supporting complex delivery planning.
  • Mentor analysts and foster a culture of data‑driven decision‑making and continuous capability uplift.

What You’ll Bring

  • Deep technical expertise in Alteryx, Tableau/Power BI, advanced SQL, and scalable BI architecture, with experience leading analytics teams or major BI transformations.
  • Strong retail commercial acumen, partnering with trading, merchandising, supply chain, and store operations to embed insights into day‑to‑day decision‑making.
  • Proven ability to define, prioritise, and manage an analytics portfolio, balancing quick wins with strategic capabilities and measurable business value.
  • Experienced in designing KPI frameworks, performance scorecards, and benefits‑realisation measures to track and communicate analytics impact.
  • Trusted advisor with strong stakeholder influence, data storytelling, and decision‑enablement capabilities, comfortable challenging senior leaders.
  • Demonstrates a strong governance and quality mindset, ensuring consistency, control, and high standards across analytics and reporting.
  • Inspirational people leader who drives innovation, builds high‑performing teams, and fosters a culture of continuous improvement, customer focus, and data‑driven decision making.
