As a Designer at Primark, you will plan a critical role in the delivery of the product strategy in Primark. You will drive the success of your department by identifying key seasonal trends, working with suppliers to develop best in class product and alongside B&M, strategically work to build and deliver well executed and exciting new ranges for our target customers.
You will work with teams across design to identify and deliver the newest and latest trends for our Global market. You will deliver colour direction and build seasonally appropriate colour palettes, identify key shapes and graphic newness, and drive fabric innovation.
You will be a collaborative and strategic designer, working with B&M, sourcing and our technical team, to seek out new opportunities of growth, ways to better the product and drive our LFL, in line with Primark’s strategic vision.
You will be a well trusted member of the BMD community within Primark. You will be seen as a leader that engages and inspires the junior members of our community. Driving collaboration across the wider Primark teams, to enhance our product offering and position on the high street.
What You’ll Do as a Designer

- Research and forecast trends using data insights, customer analytics, and global fashion intelligence to shape commercially relevant ranges.
- Develop innovative products and seasonal colour palettes, ensuring cohesive execution across the shop floor.
- Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to source fabrics, refine fits, and deliver high-quality, trend-led products from concept to final approval.
- Lead and mentor the design team, driving creativity, setting clear expectations, and fostering professional growth.
- Present design vision and trend research to key stakeholders, influencing decisions with data-backed insights.
- Partner cross-functionally with buying, merchandising, marketing, and brand teams to bring product stories to life across all customer touchpoints.
Key Interactions and Engagements as part of this role:
As Designer, you will work closely with Primark’s Buying and Merchandising teams, as well as collaborating with other Design teams across all product categories to ensure alignment and a unified Design vision across our brand. You will represent your product categories and bring forward ranges for sign off at senior leadership meetings. You will also be expected to represent your product categories on working groups and forums across departmentally.

- Proven design experience – 5+ years in fashion design, including at least 2 years in a leadership or team management role.
- Technical expertise – Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, with a strong eye for seasonal trends and commercial application.
- Leadership skills – Ability to mentor, inspire, and develop a team while driving high performance and innovation.
- Stakeholder management – Skilled at building relationships and influencing cross-functional teams, suppliers, and freelancers.
- Excellent communication – Confident presenter with strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence.
- Organisational strength – Highly capable of planning, prioritizing, and delivering in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
