What You’ll Do as an Assistant Fabric Manager

As Assistant Fabric Manager, based in Bangladesh, you will support the sourcing, development, and management of fabrics across one of Primark's key sourcing markets. Working closely with fabric mills, garment manufacturers/ Suppliers, and internal stakeholders, you will help ensure fabrics meet Primark's requirements for quality, value, sustainability, innovation, and speed to market.

You will contribute to fabric development projects, supplier engagement, market research, and fabric performance initiatives while building strong relationships across the supply chain. The role requires a strong understanding of textile manufacturing and local market dynamics, enabling you to support fabric sourcing strategies and deliver commercial and operational improvements across multiple product categories. Lead on fabric sourcing strategies across Pakistan and regional supply markets, delivering the best balance of quality, cost, speed, sustainability, and innovation.

• Manage supplier relationships with fabric mills, yarn suppliers, and garment manufacturers across Bangladesh and the wider sourcing region.
• Identify, assess, and onboard suppliers that can meet business requirements, while supporting supplier evaluations and performance reviews.
• Drive fabric sourcing initiatives that improve quality, cost, lead times, sustainability, and innovation.
• Support fabric costing and sourcing decisions by gathering market intelligence and assisting with supplier negotiations.
• Partner with Buying and Design teams to source and develop fabrics for seasonal and core product ranges, ensuring development timelines are met.
• Research fabric innovations and technologies, including new fibres, finishes, and manufacturing processes, while maintaining approved material libraries.
• Support end-to-end fabric development and production readiness, tracking progress, resolving quality or supply issues, and helping suppliers achieve right-first-time standards.
• Promote sustainability, compliance, and cross-functional collaboration by supporting ethical sourcing requirements, monitoring supplier standards, and working closely with internal stakeholders to deliver fabric strategies and continuous improvements.

What You’ll Bring

• 3-5 years' experience in fabric sourcing, fabric development, textile manufacturing, or materials management within the apparel or textile industry.
• Good understanding of woven / knit / denim / jersey / outerwear / performance fabric categories, including fibre, yarn, dyeing, finishing, and fabric manufacturing processes.
• Experience working with fabric mills, garment manufacturers, or suppliers within Bangladesh or regional sourcing markets.
• Proficiency in Excel and PLM systems
• Basic commercial awareness with exposure to fabric costing, supplier management, or sourcing activities.
• Experience supporting fabric development with mills---(from concept through to production is advantageous.)
• Understanding of sustainability, traceability, compliance, and responsible sourcing principles within the textile industry.
• Degree qualification in Textile Technology, Materials Science, Textile Engineering, Apparel Production, or a related discipline is preferred.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Fluency in English and local language preferred
