Job Title: Head of Regional Sourcing & Operations

Purpose of the Role:
The Head of Regional Sourcing & Operations is a senior leadership role accountable for executing Primark’s global sourcing strategy across Asia, with a particular focus on supporting strategy and leading our in-country teams, while overseeing day-to-day operations. This role ensures alignment with brand objectives, commercial priorities, and Primark standards while driving operational excellence and team performance across the region.
As a key leader within our sourcing structure, this role will lead regional sourcing operations, supplier strategy and engagement, and oversee performance delivery across cost, speed to market, and ensuring compliance across the board. The successful candidate will bring deep knowledge of local sourcing landscapes, exceptional leadership capabilities, and the ability to operate as both a strategic partner and operational enabler.
This is a high-impact leadership role with a both strategic and operational dimensions, responsible for ensuring the smooth running of our Sourcing offices and Strategic Supplier Management, working with current suppliers to drive innovation and compliance while ensuring that Primark are working with the best suppliers for the Primark brand within the sourcing countries.
A critical part of the role will be fostering strong connection, collaboration, and alignment across colleagues based in multiple sourcing locations throughout Asia, ensuring they operate as a cohesive regional team. The role will also act as a key conduit to the Central Sourcing team in Dublin, ensuring strategic alignment, transparent communication, and shared accountability across all levels.
The role requires a highly collaborative leader who can inspire, mentor, and lead diverse teams across multiple locations and engage and inspire a strategic supply base, innovating and building for the future growth of the Primark brand.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Support the innovation of Primark’s global sourcing strategy and embed it into regional action plans, incorporating local market knowledge and expertise.
- Build, maintain and nurture long-term partnerships with local and regional suppliers to enhance agility, transparency, and mutual growth.
- Drive innovation through Primark’s supply base, strategically filling any current gaps, creating a truly diverse and agile supply base.
- Identify and develop sourcing opportunities that leverage regional strengths, improve lead times, and reduce environmental impact.
- Negotiate competitive pricing, favourable terms, and capacity commitments.
- Create strong partnerships with leaders of other functions within the Primark business and support the delivery of strategy across the board e.g. Ethical, Traceability, Quality and Product Compliance.
- Manage supplier performance through Primark’s Vendor Score Card and drive improvement where needed, actively and proactively manage underperformance with relative consequences.
- Serve as a key liaison between regional operations and the central sourcing team to ensure consistent communication and strategic alignment.
- Keep a finger continually on the pulse of regional economic, political, and industry developments that may impact sourcing strategies and supply continuity. Give clear executive summaries of events to the sourcing leadership team in head office.
- Lead, mentor, and strategically grow a high-performing regional sourcing team with a strong focus on supplier performance improvement, collaboration, accountability, and innovation.
- Act as key conduit between regional operations and central sourcing team ensuring transparent, and clear communication with shared accountability.
- Provide regular reporting and insight to the central sourcing team, sharing local market trends, capacity updates and risk assessments.
Leadership & Collaboration:
- Strategically Build, develop, and mentor a high-performing team with deep sourcing expertise and strong market knowledge, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, inclusion, and continuous development.
- Develop and build succession amongst Regional & Central Sourcing teams.
- Coordinate and facilitate seamless communication and collaboration among team members in different locations, ensuring efficient workflows and clear expectations.
- Implement inclusive leadership practices, embracing cultural differences and creating an environment where all voices are heard and valued.
- Ensure strong alignment between regional operations and central sourcing strategy, acting as a connector and integrator across global teams.
- Act as a coach and mentor for the team, enabling them to take ownership of their careers and supporting them to drive their own development
- Share an engaging and inspiring vision with the team and provide clarity and direction to enable working towards common goals
- Generate enthusiasm and commitment within the team and across Primark to shared outcome
- Prioritise and manage competing matters utilising a team approach whilst maintaining high and consistent standards.
- Build trust and credibility across Primark and develop strong internal networks and partnerships.
- Form strategic partnerships and productive working relationships with both internal and external partners, suppliers and vendors where relevant to achieve strategic objectives.
- Drive strategic innovation through the supply base supporting suppliers to evolve, dealing with underperformance and adding new innovative suppliers where necessary. Ensuring a diverse and strategic supply base.
- Facilitate learning, ideas and information sharing across teams.
- Collaborate with and influence stakeholders in all relevant business areas.
Skills & Experience:
- A minimum of 15 years of extensive experience in sourcing within the apparel, fashion, or consumer goods industry, with a deep understanding of regional dynamics across Asia. Proven experience in a senior sourcing leadership role, managing multi-country teams and driving strategic and operational outcomes.
- Experience building strategic team structures for maximum impact.
- Proven track record of leading regional or multi-country sourcing operations including supplier management, performance delivery and risk mitigation.
- Demonstrated experience in rebalancing country-of-origin strategies and supply base rationalisation aligning sourcing models with cost, risk, compliance, and capacity planning.
- Experience in developing and executing sourcing strategies that align with broader business objectives [e.g. speed to market, cost efficiency].
- Strong background in supplier engagement and negotiation including performance management and capability building.
- Experience in creating a high-performance culture through target setting, performance evaluation, and employee engagement. Strong leadership skills, with the ability to effectively coach, guide and mentor while ensure the team achieves its goals.
- Demonstrated experience creating effective relationships across the business, with prior experience of relationship management at Executive levels. Proven ability to build relationships and influence at all levels of the business.
- Demonstrated ability in developing a culture that embraces innovation, and challenges existing paradigms without compromising business performance
- The ability to effectively manage complex tasks and prioritise multiple projects and competing priorities.
- Outstanding written and interpersonal communication skills.
