Continuous Improvement Lead
The Continuous Improvement Lead (CIL) will be responsible for leading key operational initiatives and be the main sponsor of continuous improvement within the organization. The CIL will focus on initiatives that improve our team members well-being in line with the Primark culture. This position will establish a prioritized list of initiatives, develop ROI, and work with cross functional partners towards implementation. Working in alignment with the Productivity team, the CIL will identify potential process improvements from an in store, operational focus. Ensuring that Primark stores operate in the most efficient, cost conscious way whilst ensuring a strong customer centric focus.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the organization
  • Develop ROI for identified initiatives and determine prioritization for the organization
  • Assist in improving current procedures to make the job easier for the retail assistants to complete day to day tasks
  • Help incorporate new procedures and new technologies to streamline operations
  • Liaise with other departments to identify, prioritize, and implement operational improvements
  • Partner with store leadership and the Operational Process Implementation Manager to test, pilot, and implement operational improvements
  • Work with the WFM team to update engineered labour standards reflective of the improved operations
  • Drive engagement across operational areas with innovation, idea generation and service improvement, driving a culture of continuous improvement and problem solving
  • Through the analysis of processes, organisational design, operational data, and customer feedback and industry benchmarking, identify and deliver viable and sustainable continuous improvement changes that result in streamlined processes, greater operational efficiency and improved quality of service
  • Use Lean Six Sigma techniques and other tools such as root cause analysis and critical to quality assessments to ensure the needs of the customer and operations are fully considered and met
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, developing strong stakeholder relationships to deliver all elements of change activity
  • Facilitate and contribute to workshop sessions including notetaking, recording actions and distributing follow up communications and driving action plans
  • Provide insight and Report on effectiveness of improvements and value change delivered
  • Ensure all process, policy and knowledge documents, including training and communications, are created and maintained in line with business as usual and change activity
Essential knowledge, skills and experience:
  • Have strong analytical skills to interpret customer needs and translate into operational requirements.
  • Possess the ability to work alongside senior management at all levels within Retail, the business and external service providers / business partners.
  • Demonstrate strong planning and organisation skills, ability to plan and prioritise work schedule and work within agreed timescales.
  • Have strong communications skills (written and verbal) – need to communicate at all levels within Retail, the business and external service providers / business partners.
  • Show flexibility in working location; travel within Europe may be required; and the role may also require occasional travel further afield
  • Ability to work flexible hours to support the business and the Retail Operations team.
