Supply Chain Data Analyst
(fixed term contract)
Purpose of role: Support Supply Chain business function on data and reporting requirements including increasing/optimising the existing footprint of SC BI & Analytics
Reports to: Network Planning & MIS Manager, Supply Chain
Location: Flexible- Islip/Reading/Dublin.
Key Responsibilities:
• Improve Supply Chain data visibility by merging the data silos. This will involve working with data flows from Warehouse management systems (WMS), Inbound Global Trade Management system, Transport Management System (TMS), Oracle RMS, Data cubes in Microsoft Analysis Services
• Working with central BI team & Supply Chain IT, support the design, sizing and implementation of Supply Chain data tables/views in Teradata
• Develop capability to semi automate reports with manual feeds, where data still resides in spreadsheets/shared server space
• Work with existing data in Teradata data warehouse to create bespoke SC centric views which can be productionised and used to create/optimise reports
• Work with Supply Chain departments like Imports/sourcing, Distribution Centres, Inventory, Finance and Transport teams to automate existing reports including developing new reports on Tableau reporting suite
• Support Planning team on retail store replenishment forecasts trial by automating manual feeds from store estate/shared server space
• Additional support for SC & Oracle project team for carrying out UAT on reports
• Improve the product flow visibility end to end from supply chain global origins all the way to end consumer in Primark markets
• Work with operational and project team to find solutions to existing data gaps
• Create dashboards to help Supply Chain business functions to make timely business critical decisions
• Identify and create opportunities where Tableau data extracts can be productionised to be used by reporting champions to slice and dice tableau view on Tableau Web Creator interface
• Support Supply Chain Reporting Spoke forum on business data and reporting requirements
• Identify and develop process automation with enhancement of data provision where possible
• Ensure proper data governance principles are in place in line with Primark Data Governance guidelines
Monitoring and Measuring
• Ensure that reporting solution delivery is accompanied with UAT and user base training
• Manage user access and report permissions based on SC User groups/AD
People
• Work with Supply Chain business functions, BI, ICT and operational teams to deliver reporting and BI solutions
Knowledge, skills & experience:
• Highly analytical and good numerical skills
• Logical problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to use own initiative
• Highly focused on the delivery of quality outputs
• Capacity to conduct data quality control, linkage and validation
• Good knowledge of SQL, XML's, API
• Tableau or knowledge of data visualisation tool essential
• Expert user of Microsoft Excel
• Knowledge and understanding of data base structures and should be comfortable working with Teradata data warehouse solution
• R or Python language would be beneficial but not essential
• Knowledge of ETL tools like Alteryx Designer would be beneficial
• Previous experience in Retail or Supply Chain based projects
