Procurement play a key role in enabling Primark to deliver “Amazing Fashion at Amazing Prices” whilst supporting a significant store expansion programme and business transformation.
Procurement @ Primark look after “Goods not for resale” (GNFR) covering categories such as Supply Chain, Marketing, IT, Facilities Management, Retails Operations and Store Development.
Our team partners with the business to develop strategies to create competitive advantage for the business, with a focus on value creation, innovation, sustainability and risk management.
The Procurement Business Advisor – Energyis a role partnering within our EnergyTeam, supporting the global procurement of energy.
This role is accountable to develop and execute deep analytical support the Energy Team.
  1. Energy
  • Provide support to the team for supplier and service performance reporting and associated KPIs for the Primark Energy Team
  • Review and advise on contract, consumption, cost, and carbon emissions analysis to aid effective decision making
  • Provide analysis of energy and utilities consumption data to assist the Category Managers in the construction of category strategies
  • To support day-to-day estate and contract matters including commodity price validation and energy meter registrations
  • Support day-to-day operational and contractual queries associated with the Primark energy estate
  • Work closely with the Central ABF Energy Team where required
  • Support the development of green energy ROI and business case calculations
  • Produce analysis of energy and utilities data to enable Primark Energy Team members to make effective decisions with a specific focus on risk and hedging analysis
  • Apply continuous improvement principles to ensure the ongoing coordination of accurate and robust reporting, minimising duplication of effort
  • Understand global energy and utilities cost structures
  • Use of eProcurement tools to support other Primark Energy Team members in best practice energy procurement and management
  • Participate in cross category and cross functional projects as required
  • Maintain and strengthen effective working relationships with business stakeholders
  • Compile robust records of energy and utilities consumption data for sites across the global Primark estate
  • Use continuous improvement principles to manage key supplier performance and drive innovation and automation in data and analytics
  • Be a known point of contact for energy data, operational and contractual issues, supporting team, business, and Group stakeholders with queries
  1. Compliance and Governance
  • Support negotiation of contracts with new and existing suppliers, ensuring contract terms achieve benefit to the organisation and govern the long-term relationships
  • Benchmark price structures across all regions to ensure value for money through the life of a contract.
  • Support, create and distribute guidance on how to purchase items in the categories in scope to internal stakeholders to ensure category strategy is followed
  1. Contractual and Legal
  • Support the development of contracts put in place, including frameworks and legal agreements for all suppliers as required
  • Actively champion sustainability and be conscious of Corporate Social Responsibility Policy.
  • Be aware of the requirement for suppliers to comply with the Primark Code of Practice.
  1. Operational Effectiveness
  • In the Energy category support, a robust supplier base that delivers the required quality, cost and service in compliance with Primark Ethical Trade Strategy.
  • Use appropriate tools to maximise efficiency and transparency of sourcing and commercial negotiations e.g. eRFX, auctions.
  • Maintain a current view of overall category spend, supplier data, market intelligence and best practice
  • Ensure regular communication with relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure regular access and data availability from supplier portals
  1. E-sourcing and Systems
  • Ensure events are scheduled, prepared and managed to deliver best value through our e –sourcing tool Scanmarket.
  • Ensure compliance to Procurement systems policy, such as contract management systems and P2P
  1. Complexity – Internal, Spend and Supply Market
  • Support the Energy category management team in both Primark and ABF, who effectively manage c£100m of energy spend
  • Establish effective relationships with senior supplier personnel of local, regional and global suppliers
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
  • 3-5 years related experience in an energy Procurement role and or Energy Analytics Role
  • Experience and knowledge in power, gas and related categories of spend
  • Demonstrate an ability to forge close business relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience of working within fast-paced and matrixed organisations
  • Experience of developing strategic partnerships with key suppliers
  • Ability to meet deadlines and prepare regular reports to share progress and performance
  • Demonstrate confidence and ability to draw together large complex data sets from diverse data points
  • Knowledge of financial, legal and commercial contracts, sustainability/CSR and ethical sourcing
