Technical Team Manager – Application Operations

Reporting to the Global Operations Manager – Applications & Enterprise Platforms, the Technical Team Manager’s role is central in the delivery of a quality service to our internal and external customers.
This position forms an integral part of the Application Operations team, responsible for technical ownership, support and optimisation of the relevant platforms including key integrated systems.
The role involves building and leading a team of subject matter experts in the following areas: Integration, Batch Processing, Business Intelligence/Data Management, Oracle, ePos & Application Database Administration

What we’re looking for

You’ll have a strong technical background and experience managing on-site and remote teams as well as having end-to-end responsibility for the support and optimisation of technical solutions across the application landscape. You’ll have experience with technologies such as Oracle, EPOS, Teradata, Tableau, IPMS, SoftCo and the ability to lead the team of 6-12 specialists in the UK & Ireland to deliver technical assistance, ensuring that all technologies work effectively together. You’ll also come equipped with all the tools you need to manage a team, that includes performance reviews and personal development management. You’ll be an excellent communicator, a fast learner and problem solver and have the flexibility when it comes to supporting new technologies.

Some of your key responsibilities would include:

•Driving your team to assure the installation, operations and support of end user software/application components in the production landscape
•Define team priorities and planning for operational and project activities
•Give budget input to the Functional Application team where applicable and own the budget for shared enterprise platforms (e.g. enterprise service bus)
•Define the long-term roadmap for software/application products in use
•Provide senior level review and analysis for proposed technical solutions for projects when appropriate
•Maximising process improvement and environment/application stability
•Drive and deliver DevOps methodologies
•Govern the delivery of services from a technical perspective
•Define technical standards to which the delivery teams need to adhere
•Provide technical ownership of the DR process and testing
•Manage risk identification and risk mitigation strategies associated with the architecture
