The postholder will be responsible for shaping the strategy and overseeing the delivery of the Primark Sustainable Cotton Programme (PSCP) in:
1) Promoting regenerative farming practices
2) Promoting a strengthened environmental impact in areas such as carbon sequestration, biodiversity, water management, chemical fertiliser and pesticide use, and soil management. The role requires a combination of technical and project management expertise.

What You’ll Do:



Programme Management
  • Oversee delivery of the PSCP’s agricultural and environmental approach.
  • Lead production of thematic and regional delivery plans for implementation, assess progress against them and develop solutions to challenges and identify learnings

Strategy and Project Development
  • Own and adapt as necessary (based on learning and best practice), the existing regenerative strategy and roadmap.
  • Within the regen strategy
    • influence and collaborate with internal and external experts to build a Primark approach on key themes such as soil health, agro-forestry, cover cropping and minimal tillage.
    • Develop, own and track progress against a PSCP environmental approach building in a “Just Transition” farmer-centric approach. This includes considering options to help farmers adapt to climate change.
Knowledge building, reporting and influencing
  • Act as a credible source of expertise and remain up to date on issues relating to cotton farming, agronomic practice and environmental sustainability. Use this to support PSCP implementation and innovation.
  • Work closely with the environmental sustainability teams to ensure alignment of agendas across various work streams as relevant,
  • Develop and execute strategies for industry wide engagement and advocacy with other brands, relevant industry schemes, industry players and donors etc to positively influence industry change, develop new partnerships, and support the achievement of the programme’s goals


What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Agricultural practice, Environmental Science or a related subject
  • Expert on farming agronomic issues, including the regenerative agricultural agenda
  • Expert on environmental sustainability and global trends in this area.
  • Strong programme management, organisation and communications skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
