As the Infrastructure Network Architect, integral part of the program team delivering to our Supply Chain and have primary responsibility to oversee the deployment of infrastructure services to our depots in alignment with our technology standards and infrastructure roadmap.
You will work closely with other Infrastructure and Domain architects as part of the Tech Architecture Practice, providing expertise and input into projects and high-level designs. You will create, review and ensure solutions that are fit for purpose for Primark; a part of this governance will be ensuring that budgets are sensible and financially sound to support the architecture.
The role will be principally based out of our Reading office (hybrid working) but will demand travel to the Supply Chain location during critical phases of delivery.

What You’ll Do:
In your role, you’ll collaborate with different people across a range of skill sets. Here’s a flavour of your day-to-day:
- Network and Infrastructure design and architecture governance
- Develop and document technical designs and solutions
- Demonstrate value to the organisation, both cost and functional levels of network decisions
- Working alongside vendors, plan and co-ordinate deployments of Cisco, Aruba technologies
- Negotiate with key stakeholders including prioritisation of projects and resources
- Provide technical design assurance for new projects, operational change, and enhancements
- Provide direction and take design ownership for network elements of the infrastructure architecture, including:
- Structured cabling, Network virtualisation, campus and site networking deployments
- Telecoms, WAN, LAN, Wi-Fi, VOIP/IPT, Video Conferencing and collaboration platforms
- Security, Firewalls, Remote access
- Traffic management, Network management
What You’ll Bring

- Exposure to business-critical, high-availability design and deployment
- Experience in technically managing complex network projects
- Experience of network design in virtualized environments
- Proven track record of delivering WAN/LAN/Wi-Fi network services
- Proven delivery experience of network infrastructure in retail and warehouse environments
- Broad technical skillset extending to EUC, Virtualisation and Platform.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to all stakeholders
- Relevant Professional Qualifications, i.e. CCNP, TOGAF
- Ability to operate and deliver within a highly pressurised and fast-paced environment
