What You’ll Do

We want you to feel challenged and inspired. Here, you’ll develop your skills across a range of responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of accurate and timely in-house payroll for over 33,000 colleagues across the UK & ROI
  • Partner with the Payroll Manager and wider team to manage payroll cycles, monitor deadlines, and address any risks
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, payroll regulations, and statutory requirements, including year-end processes and reporting
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance processes and efficiencies
  • Collaborate cross-functionally and support governance, compliance, and global payroll activities as required
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to team members while maintaining high standards of accuracy and attention to detail

What You’ll Bring  

Here at Primark, we want everyone to feel valued – so please bring your authentic self to work, of course with some other key experience and abilities for this role in particular:

  • Proven payroll experience (5+ years, or a combination of payroll and broader industry experience) with strong knowledge of UK/ROI payroll systems such as SAP or Mega Pay
  • Solid understanding of payroll legislation, including tax regulations, statutory requirements, pensions, and year-end processes
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach and the ability to make sound decisions while knowing when to escalate
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines under pressure
  • Proficiency in Excel/MS tools, with an organised and structured approach to work
  • A collaborative mindset with excellent communication skills, demonstrating integrity, professionalism, and the ability to support and develop team members
