This role is a hybrid opportunity, offering 1-2 days Working from home.
What You’ll Do as a QA Manager
We want you to feel challenged and inspired. Here, you’ll develop your skills across a range of responsibilities:
- End‑to‑End Quality & Delivery Governance: Define, manage, and continuously improve the complete testing lifecycle across multiple vendors, establishing standards, frameworks, and governance to ensure consistent, high‑quality delivery across all test phases (unit to UAT).
- Agile & Automation‑Led QA Delivery: Drive Agile quality practices by defining and maintaining Definition of Ready and Definition of Done, embedding automated testing within CI/CD pipelines, and supporting a shift‑left approach using agreed tools and open‑source frameworks.
- Resource & Vendor Management: Effectively manage demand, capacity, and utilisation of highly skilled QA resources and vendors to deliver optimal quality outcomes in a cost‑efficient manner.
- Stakeholder Collaboration & Risk Management: Partner closely with product, engineering, business teams, and testing partners to align QA outcomes with business priorities, proactively manage risks, and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Metrics, Reporting & Continuous Improvement: Establish and monitor QA performance metrics including defect trends, leakage, cycle times, automation coverage, RCA, and cost efficiency, ensuring insights support business goals, forecasting, and future planning.
- Innovation, Non‑Functional Quality & Environment Management: Drive innovation and cost optimisation through modern QA practices, ensuring robust non‑functional testing (performance, security, accessibility, cross‑platform compatibility) while overseeing stable, scalable, and compliant test environments and data strategies.
What You’ll Bring

- QA & Test Leadership Experience: Proven experience leading Test and QA functions within a complex IT environment, ideally in retail or similarly fast‑paced, large‑scale organisations.
- Global Team Collaboration: Extensive experience working with and coordinating global QA teams and external partners to deliver consistent quality outcomes.
- Strong Delivery & Organisational Skills: Exceptional organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple competing demands and deliver under pressure.
- Technical & Methodological Expertise: Strong understanding of QA methodologies, SDLC, automation strategies, and modern practices including BDD and TDD.
- Stakeholder & Communication Excellence: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and manage stakeholders effectively across business and technology teams.
- Continuous Improvement & Professional Credentials: A proactive, problem‑solving mindset with experience across modern environment technologies (cloud, virtualisation, containerisation), and ISTQB Advanced (or equivalent) certification is desirable.
