What You’ll Do:
In your role, you’ll collaborate with different people across a range of skill sets. Here’s a flavour of your day-to-day:
- Be able to identify and explore product issues, develop design solutions and support the project along its entire path: from idea and implementation, through to its development and delivery.
- Contribute to and improve processes and frameworks to enable consistency and efficiency of digital assets such as design systems, guidelines, and pattern or component libraries.
- Create customer journey maps, user flows and wireframes.
- Design the end-to-end (UX and UI) experience and work across the lifecycle of a product feature.
- Actively contribute to the creative process by offering input, providing feedback and sharing ideas. Identify future opportunities whilst working as a thought partner to relevant stakeholders.
- Plan, brief, collaborate and/or conduct remote and in-person user tests to research and validate proposed designs and other additional UX recommendations.
- Present product design ideas/solutions to cross-functional teams. Identify user problems and find reasonable solutions through in-depth research. Whilst working closely with our engineers at the build stage, develop mock-ups and prototypes to resolve these issues.
What You’ll Bring
Here at Primark, we want everyone to feel valued – so please bring your authentic self to work, of course with some other key experience and abilities for this role in particular:
- 3+ years of relevant UI/UX design experience.
- Experience creating wireframes, prototypes, and visual designs, preferably with a fashion retailer.
- Proficient with design tools such as Figma [our primary digital design and prototyping tool], as well as virtual whiteboarding tools such as Miro or Mural.
- Knowledge of interaction design and user experience best practices. Previously demonstrated strong user experience and design thinking skills which span the entire product design process.
- Ability to create and update design systems and version control tools/processes.
- Familiarity with agile processes and development languages such as HTML/CSS.
- Experience of user research techniques and reporting - preferably with remote user testing tools such as Userbrain or Usertesting.com.
