In this role you will support and drive the People & Culture needs of Republic of Ireland stores, working in partnership with the People & Culture and Retail Management teams.

What You’ll Do:
In your role, you’ll collaborate with different people across a range of skillsets. Here’s a flavour of your day-to-day:
  • Business Partnering: As a Business Partner, you will develop long term, strategic relationships with your stakeholders, where you can contribute, influence, and support their decision making. You will understand the intricacies of your business area and convey HR-related matters in terms that resonate with overall business objectives.
  • Employee Relations: As the first point of contact for internal customers (especially Area and Store Managers), you’ll handle employee relations issues. You will provide timely support and advice regarding grievances and disciplinary matters, and ensure they are dealt with in a fair and appropriate manager in-line with company procedures.
  • Policies and Procedures: You will ensure our People & Culture policies comply with legislative guidelines and best practices. You will regularly review and update policies to keep them fit for purpose.
  • Reports/Compliance: You will oversee the maintenance and accuracy of all Retail reports. You will deliver regular reports (periodic, quarterly, and semi-annually) to the Sales Director and Head of P&C - ROI. Conduct value-add P&C visits to stores, supporting managers on all P&C matters and verifying accurate implementation of policies.
  • Learning & Development: You will drive the Regional Retail Management Development Programme; your role is pivotal in shaping the growth and capabilities of our retail managers. As a coach, you’ll guide managers in conducting Performance Development Conversations, including managing Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) and high performing employees.
  • Recruitment – Retail Management: Your strategic partnership with key business lines ensures that you stay informed about upcoming hiring needs. Collaborating with the Recruitment Specialist, you’ll organize and deliver regular assessment centers. These centers serve as talent pipelines for Retail Management.
  • Other: As a line manager, you’ll provide guidance, support, and development to the P&C Administrator. Your strategic contributions extend to the overall P&C team, where you’ll introduce fresh ideas and best practices.

What You’ll Bring
Here at Primark, we want everyone to feel valued – so please bring your authentic self to work, of course with some other key experience and abilities for this role in particular:
  • You will have 5+ years People & Culture experience ideally in a dynamic, fast paced multi-site retail/services environment.
  • You will have the ability to act as an adviser to Senior Managers on all aspects of employment legislation ensuring full legal and company policy compliance.
  • You will have a strong background in Employee Relations and Industrial Relations
  • You have excellent HR Knowledge & ideally a relevant HR qualification (CIPD equivalent)
  • You will bring solid recruitment, training and ER experience.
  • You have a proven track record of stakeholder management at a range of levels.
  • You are a problem solver with sound judgment skills.
  • You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • You have the ability to work on your own initiative.
  • You bring strong commercial awareness.
