What You’ll Do
As the Associate General Counsel for Primark US, you will provide expert and strategic legal advice to the US Leadership team and ensure that our retail operations align with legal and regulatory requirements. This role is based on Boston, MA.

Here is how it looks in action:
  • Collaborate with senior management to align legal strategies with business objectives and drive growth.
  • Develop an in-depth knowledge and understanding of Primark, its people, organization, products, competitors, and regulatory environment, to identify trends and proactively provide legal advice to the business.
  • Provide solution-orientated legal advice on a broad spectrum of commercial, marketing, privacy, corporate, intellectual property, employment, and regulatory matters, ensuring the company operates within legal guidelines and mitigates risks.
  • Ensure the company's compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate indirect contracts with third party partners and vendors.
  • Oversee and manage litigation, arbitration, and dispute resolution processes.
  • Develop and review company policies, practices, and guidelines to ensure legal compliance and risk mitigation.
  • Identify and analyze legal risks and provide proactive solutions to mitigate potential issues.
  • Supervise, develop and coach direct reports to properly manage day-to-day legal work to enable value creation by the business.
  • Manage outside counsel in a cost-effective manner, whether transactional, litigation or compliance in nature, and appropriately work with other attorneys within the Legal Department globally who may also be involved in supporting certain matters and managing outside counsel (e.g., intellectual property litigation matters).

What You’ll Bring
To be successful in this role, you must have a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and a minimum of 15 years of legal experience, preferably in the retail sector.
  • We ask that you have an active membership in the state bar of Massachusetts.
  • The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. They demonstrate high ethical standards, keen attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
