Business Intelligence Developer
Purpose of role: The primary focus can be summarized as follows:
- Automating processes through Alteryx, Tableau and Robot Process Automation (RPA)
- Acting as a data SME, engaging in data modelling best practices and an ability to manage database tables.
- Ability and interest in experimenting with emerging automation technology and data integration tools.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement automation solutions to increase efficiency and streamline business processes.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify areas for automation and propose innovative solutions to meet business needs.
- Develop and maintain project documentation, incl. design specifications and test plans.
- Understand the risks, assumptions, and dependencies associated with the processes and the development.
- Bring an agile mindset. Participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement stand-ups, retrospectives, and demos.
- Contribute and assist your Finance customers to create user acceptance tests (UAT) and Hypercare/Post Live Monitoring scenarios, identifying all the potential scenarios, the process exceptions, and their expected outcomes.
- Lead upskilling sessions with Primark colleagues and train them in our automation tools.
- Collaborate to ensure our automations are adequately resourced
- Support capacity analysis of automations/developments/bots in Production
- Define process dashboard to be used by Process SME for automation monitoring
- Support Process SMEs when issues appear in production automations’ operations
- Create reports using SQL and Data Modelling best practices.
- Experience with MS products such as PowerBI, PowerApps, PowerAutomate and Co-Pilot.
Knowledge, skills, and experience:
- Good oral presentation skills with the ability to present non-technical details to a technical audience.
- Good written skills with the ability to produce clear and concise documentation.
- Good inter-personal skills, communicating well with process SMEs, business process owners, and other members of the Automation team.
- A self-starter who delivers high quality work and can adapt to challenges, either individually or as part of a team.
- Requirements gathering skills, able to capture business processes using both existing process documentation and process walkthroughs with the staff performing the process.
- Ability to both understand a business process from a workflow diagram and to conceptualize it as an automated solution.
- Understanding of formal change control and defect management disciplines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Successful candidates will meet the following criteria:
- 3+ years’ experience designing and automated process solutions (preferably using Automation Anywhere, Alteryx, and/or Tableau/dashboard design).
- Finance background and/or a knowledge of industry-leading ERPs (Oracle Financials etc) would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of Scrum methodology and Agile development practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or SQL
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Detail-oriented and organized.
