Head of License Design
Head of License Design

As Head of License Design, you will be responsible for the inception and implementation of License design strategy which includes cross business campaigns and macro trends for Primark. These trends and campaigns will transcend across multiple departments and product categories.
You will partner with external stakeholders at Licensors and Licensees to lead senior creative relationships and drive unique creative direction for Primark.
The Head of License Design acts as a leader and role model for best practice within License design, striving to create a unified design voice across Product areas and with external partners. Leading a team of License Designers internally you will develop and empower, fostering a high-performance culture through target setting, performance evaluation and employee engagement.

What You’ll Do
We want you to feel challenged and inspired. Here, you’ll develop your skills across a range of responsibilities:
- Design Vision & Strategy
- Act as a trusted advisor, working alongside Director of License and Product Leadership Teams to ensure vision and strategy alignment between all functions, as well as alignment to the overall company strategic direction.
- Actively working with all key external partners to identify trends and commercial opportunities that align to the License strategic growth pillars.
- Trend
- Accountable for License macro trend are and strategic direction.
- Campaign Direction
- Responsible for creating and setting total business campaign direction for all cross department campaigns to ensure they are unique to Primark and commercially successful.
- Collaborates with all external partners to secure to drive new and exclusive assets and IP direction for each campaign direction.
- Leadership
- Build, manage and mentor a high performing team focused on delivering the License Design vision and strategy across departments and external stakeholders.
- Collaboration
- Champion License across the business by engaging with internal stakeholders to share design vision and strategy.
What You’ll Bring
We want every person in our organisation to feel like they’re making a key contribution. Here are some of the experiences and skills you’ll need for the role:
- 10 years of experience in a Design role with at least 5 years in a senior management position
- 5 years’ experience within the License Design industry, with extensive knowledge working collaboratively with Senior external stakeholders.
- Relevant qualification in fashion design and trend forecasting related to License.
- Demonstrated experience in the implementation and execution of Design strategies and campaign ideation.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, team based, deadline-oriented environment
- The ability to effectively manage complex tasks and prioritise multiple projects and competing priorities and influence.
