What You’ll Do

We want you to feel challenged and inspired. Here, you’ll develop your skills across a range of responsibilities:

  • Lead strategic category management, creating and delivering multi‑year category plans that optimise cost, performance, risk, and alignment with Primark’s strategic goals.
  • Develop and execute sourcing, negotiation, and go‑to‑market strategies, ensuring supplier risk management, resilience, compliance, and strong commercial outcomes.
  • Drive multi‑year cost efficiency programmes, using data and insights to deliver long‑term savings, innovation, operational improvements, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Own supplier and stakeholder relationships, managing strategic suppliers, fostering innovation, monitoring performance, and partnering with senior internal stakeholders to align procurement activity with business needs.
  • Oversee execution of sourcing activity, ensuring Category Specialists and GBS teams deliver against plans, follow best‑practice governance, and apply strong negotiation strategies.
  • Champion new ways of working, embedding digital tools, procurement policy, governance, and effective collaboration with the GBS offshore partner to enhance efficiency and spend transparency.

What You’ll Bring

  • Extensive category management expertise, with 7+ years’ experience leading complex, multi‑market sourcing activities, developing multi‑year strategies, and delivering commercial advantage.
  • Strong negotiation and commercial capability, including expert financial and legal contract negotiation skills, ethical sourcing awareness, and experience leading cross‑functional negotiation teams.
  • Proven relationship builder, skilled at forging partnerships with senior stakeholders and strategic suppliers to drive step‑change value, innovation, and long‑term collaboration.
  • Strategic thinker with strong business acumen, able to analyse risk, solve complex problems, and drive change with curiosity, innovation, and a results‑focused approach.
  • Highly organised and effective communicator, with excellent planning, prioritisation, verbal and written communication, and project management skills.
  • Values‑driven leader, aligned with Primark’s culture of being caring, dynamic, and together, able to influence at all levels and travel as required.
  • CIPS qualification is desirable but not required.
