What You’ll Do as a P&C Area Business Partner

In your role, you’ll collaborate with different people across a range of skillsets. Here’s a flavour of your day-to-day:

  • Recruitment & Workforce Planning: Partner with Recruitment and Retail teams to deliver workforce plans, using data insights to address hiring challenges and support Store P&C BPs in strategic and tactical hiring solutions.
  • Learning, Development & Talent Management: Coach and develop leadership and in-store P&C teams, identify training needs, build capability, and lead talent, succession, and development planning to ensure strong pipelines and high-performing teams.
  • Engagement, Culture & Performance: Strengthen company culture and colleague engagement, support survey analysis and action planning, drive well-being initiatives, and partner with leadership on performance management, calibration, and development actions.
  • Employee Relations & Compliance: Ensure governance of policies and legal compliance, provide expert guidance on ER matters, manage complex cases with internal and external partners, and support positive, inclusive employee relations across regions.
  • Stakeholder Management, Reporting & Change: Use KPIs and data insights to inform decisions, influence leadership, support business-wide interventions, lead organisational change, and align P&C strategies with broader business goals.
  • Commercial Impact & Behavioural Leadership: Drive business performance through strong commercial insight, operational efficiency, and innovation, while demonstrating key behaviours such as effective decision-making, agility, customer focus, collaboration, and influencing stakeholders.

What You’ll Bring

Here at Primark, we want everyone to feel valued – so please bring your authentic self to work, of course with some other key experience and abilities for this role in particular:

  • 4+ years’ HR experience, including at least 2 years at an experienced HR Manager level, with strong exposure as a Regional/Area Business Partner in retail, ideally within a matrix organisation.
  • Proven experience leading the HR/P&C agenda in Northern Ireland, with deep knowledge of NI employment legislation and the ability to navigate multiple legal jurisdictions.
  • Experience working in a Trade Union environment, including collective bargaining, pay negotiations, formal consultations, and managing industrial relations risk.
  • Strong credibility and ability to advise senior leaders in complex, unionised environments.
  • Working knowledge of Republic of Ireland employment law and frameworks is desirable, along with CIPD qualification (Level 5 or 7) or equivalent.
  • Retail or multi-site HR experience, with the ability to manage operations across diverse locations.
