What You’ll Do as Traceability Operations Specialist

In this role you will be involved in the general coordination and support for the Traceability team. As the Traceability Operations Specialist you will play a key role in supporting compliance with the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) and other Regulations by ensuring supply chain transparency, data integrity, and robust traceability processes. This role will coordinate supplier engagement, data validation, and compliance monitoring to ensure all sourcing activities align with regulatory and internal standards.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, internal teams, and external partners to support Primark’s Traceability strategy.
  • Lead supplier onboarding, training, and ongoing support to ensure compliance with traceability requirements.
  • Act as the primary contact for supplier queries, escalations, and exception management.
  • Ensure timely collection of accurate traceability data (e.g. certificates, declarations, geolocation) in line with legal standards.
  • Validate supplier documentation for accuracy, completeness, and authenticity.
  • Analyse traceability and geospatial data, conduct risk assessments, and identify potential compliance issues or red flags.
  • Track progress and performance, producing regular reports and maintaining SOPs and documentation.
  • Coordinate supplier engagement activities (meetings, workshops, travel, presentations) while managing multiple priorities and stakeholders effectively.

Skills & Experience

  • Strong commitment to sustainability and ethical sourcing, with high cultural awareness and integrity.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with full proficiency in English.
  • Highly organised with strong problem-solving, planning, and time management abilities.
  • Analytical mindset with excellent data management skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project); experience with traceability platforms is an advantage.
  • Resilient, adaptable, and self-motivated, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure both independently and as part of a team.

Desirable Attributes:

  • Knowledge of EUDR, UKTR and US Lacey Act requirements, deforestation-free supply chains, or environmental compliance.
  • Experience with traceability and supply chain risk intelligence platforms.
  • Experience working with Chain of Custody documentation or third-party audit processes, in particular FSC.
  • Multilingual skills to support supplier engagement across regions; Mandarin speaker preferred.
