What You’ll Do

We want you to feel challenged and inspired. Here, you’ll develop your skills across a range of responsibilities: 

  • Coordinate, prepare, and review indirect tax and statistical returns across multiple international markets, ensuring accurate and timely filings and payments/refunds.
  • Manage indirect tax balance sheet reconciliations and ensure all related postings are complete, accurate, and compliant.
  • Partner with external advisors and internal stakeholders to meet global indirect tax compliance obligations and support audits.
  • Support and contribute to indirect tax projects, including new entity or jurisdiction roll‑outs and ad‑hoc planning or advisory initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve tax compliance processes, enhance systems, and drive operational efficiencies across the team.
  • Support the Indirect Tax Compliance Manager by leading, developing, and mentoring team members, including direct management of Finance Associates.

What You’ll Bring  

Here at Primark, we want everyone to feel valued – so please bring your authentic self to work, of course with some other key experience and abilities for this role in particular: 

  • A recognised accounting or tax qualification (CTA, ACCA, ACA, CPA, or equivalent preferred), with hands-on experience preparing and reviewing VAT/sales tax returns across multiple jurisdictions (US indirect tax experience is a plus).
  • Strong commercial awareness and analytical capability, with a detail-oriented mindset and the ability to understand wider business impacts.
  • Proven leadership and people management skills, with experience supporting and developing team members in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with internal stakeholders and external advisors across regions.
  • Strong organisational, time management, and project management skills, with the ability to multitask, work under pressure, and meet strict deadlines.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), experience with Windows-based systems, and exposure to Oracle or similar ERP systems considered an advantage.
