This roles purpose is to perform and enforce developed due diligence standards and drive impact of a structured portfolio of programmes, partnerships and interventions that support Human Rights Due Diligence and positive social impact across Primark supply chain in Pakistan. This role is required enforcing and implementing well designed and comprehensive monitoring programmes and partnerships in both factories and lower tiers of the supply chain that support Primark’s global approaches and priorities across key labour rights workstreams including factory assessment, CAP remediation and support to longer-term systematic change to tackle the root causes of key human rights risks in the supply chain. 


What You’ll Do as an Ethical Trade Executive, Monitoring 

In your role, you’ll collaborate with different people across a range of skillsets. Here’s a flavour of your day-to-day:  

  • Contributes to the implementation of Primark’s Ethical Audit Operation Strategy covering audits, visit, investigation, community survey, shadow audits to third parties, report and CAP submission etc for its suppliers and factories in Pakistan.
  • Ensures the company’s ethical trading requirements are clearly communicated throughout the supply base
  • Raises awareness about the importance of ethical trading and how to approach it.
  • Contributes to the on-going development of the company’s Ethical Trading Strategy, providing insight, advice and solutions direct from the supply base
  • Contributes to new factory approval process in Pakistan as required by the ETM, including managing first contact communication with factories and suppliers, liaising with the BD team on scheduling audits, processing documentation, and ensuring that factory audits are carried out in a timely manner with complete appliance of QARMA platform and new audit standards.
  • Remediation of Code non-compliances with factories and suppliers. Advising ETM on suitability for re-audits and next steps.
  • Support ETM managing external and internal grievances as may receive via different platforms like; Hamari Awaj, Intl. Accord, Union, WRC, LBL etc. 
  • Engages with suppliers and factories to build relationships that enable sharing best practices and improvements.
  • Manages stakeholder relationships as required.
  • Develops and maintain relationships with local and regional stakeholders including industry associations, trade unions, NGOs and relevant government bodies and liaise with them to identify emerging issues

  • Experience in CR and ET and the factory environment
  • Factory audit and remediation processes (e.g. SMETA, SA8000 advanced)
  • Excellent organisation/communication skills
  • A self starter who is results driven in a fast paced environment
  • The ability to build excellent relationships with key stakeholders & across the business
  • IT literate (database, spreadsheets)
  • Able to cope with the complexity of Primark’s suppliers, factories.
  • Able to cope with the diversity of cultures across the Primark ET Field Team
  • Appreciates the bigger picture of the audit programme and its link into Primark as a business
  • Seeks opportunities for improvement / change
  • Finds ways to drive worker welfare while maintaining operational continuity
