What You’ll Do

As a Supply Chain Project Manager within the Depot Investment Programme, you will play a key role in supporting the successful operational ramp-up and transition of a new distribution facility into business-as-usual operations. Working closely with the wider project team, you will help drive operational readiness, coordinate the transition from project delivery to operations, and provide hands-on project support to ensure a smooth and successful site launch.

  • Lead and coordinate activities required to support the operational ramp-up of the distribution facility, ensuring readiness for launch and stabilisation of operations.
  • Work closely with operational leadership teams to deliver a seamless transition from project phase to business-as-usual operations, including the implementation of operational processes, procedures and controls required for successful site start-up.
  • Coordinate and track key operational readiness activities, ensuring milestones are achieved and risks are identified, managed and mitigated.
  • Act as a key liaison between the project team, operational teams, suppliers, contractors and other stakeholders to ensure alignment throughout the transition period.
  • Support the existing project team across a range of activities, including planning, coordination, reporting, issue resolution, stakeholder management and project governance.
  • Monitor project and operational readiness plans, managing risks, issues, actions and dependencies to ensure progress is maintained and corrective actions are taken where required.
  • Produce regular progress reports and provide analytical support, including updates on key milestones, operational readiness, risks, issues, transition activities and go-live preparedness.
  • Facilitate effective communication and engagement with operational teams and key stakeholders, supporting post-launch stabilisation activities, the adoption of new processes, and ensuring all activities are conducted in line with health and safety requirements and local regulatory standards.

  • Proven project management experience delivering complex operational change, site start-ups, distribution centre launches, or operational transition programmes.
  • Significant experience within supply chain, logistics, distribution, or operational project environments.
  • Strong understanding of operational readiness, mobilisation, go-live activities, and transitioning projects into business-as-usual operations.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across project and operational teams.
  • Strong organisational, planning, prioritisation and risk management capabilities, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • A pragmatic, hands-on and delivery-focused approach, with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to implement practical solutions quickly.
  • Strong analytical, reporting and coordination skills, with a focus on driving outcomes and maintaining project momentum.
  • A project management qualification (or equivalent experience), with flexibility to travel as required. Additional language skills would be advantageous but are not essential.
